  • A Gorgeous and Glamorous Trooper of a Suitcase! My Best Friend for 2mo of Travel <3
Love this! I've gotten a few suitcases from July before, and have to say that this is my most-used one, especially through the veritable travel marathon I've been on over the past 2 months or so. From weekend trips by car to jetting up an down the east coast over a 3-day marathon (don't ask...), this suitcase has been my constant companion, through vacations, day trips, moving house, and business trips alike. Despite all I've put it through, It still looks and feels incredible! First, this is both very cute-looking and very durable. It looks exactly as it does in the photos -- a cute bright light pink. NGL the shell will get scraped-up looking pretty fast in air travel -- that's undeniable, it's a light colored hardshell, it's what happens -- but most can be buffed off. Aka its other things leaving pigment on the suitcase, not the suitcase being damaged, which goes to show how durable it is. A bit of buffing and its fine. Second of all, the organizational system is perfect -- I really feel like I'm getting the maximum space I can out of this, and it allows me to separate ex: delicates, pajamas, and toiletries from rougher wear like shoes, coats, and day clothes. The additional little flat bag thing is removeable, but I keep it in sometimes for particularly delicate wear (formal event dresses, suits, etc. that I want extra safe, and it has done the job admirably. Third, capacity and zipper. I've packed this thing so full I had to sit on top of it to get it to close and it still did so, with little/no zipper resistance. I've never had the zipper catch (unless I had something directly in its path), and the zipper has held strong through loads that made the shell bulge out to the point that the suitcase looked like the arched back of a turtle shell (the shell on this bounced back and became flat again immediately, btw!). This thing is uber portable (great size for a carry-on), super easy to wheel around the airport. I can push it and let go and it'll glide alongside me for a good couple of feet. I can even spin it so it crosses in front of me, let go, and catch it in my other hand if one hand/arm ever gets fatigued lol. From Charleston and Boston cobblestone to smooth airport linoleum, this crosses with ease (though obviously I cannot pull the above maneuvers on cobblestone lol). I also love the tracking feature, especially that it's compatible with FindMy, and that I can set a code to lock this. I'm always concerned about security at hotels, airports, etc. (heard too many horror stories lol), so it's good to just have the peace of mind of knowing where my luggage is and being able to lock it up to keep sticky fingers out. Overall, I think this is an excellent product, and that it's great value for money overall. 5 stars from me! ... show more

  • Another excellent offering from July. Great carry-on that matches up with larger bags.
Most carry-ons try to do too much. Expandable zippers, dual-side access, hidden compartments, configurable interiors. All of that adds zippers and seams and stress points, and zippers and seams are exactly where luggage fails first. This July carry-on takes the opposite approach. It's built to be solid first, clever second, and after spending time with it I think that was the right call. The shell is polycarbonate, which is the material I'd want on a bag at this price. It's thick, doesn't flex easily, and has the kind of construction that tells you the wall behind it isn't going to crack in a baggage handler's hands. That alone goes a long way toward justifying the heavy-duty label. The built-in tracker is what pulled my attention toward this one in the first place. I've been quietly tossing Tile trackers into my bags for years because I don't love the idea of trusting an airline to keep tabs on my stuff. Having tracking baked into the suitcase itself is a clear step up. It paired easily with the Google Find network and now lives in the background doing its job. Knowing the bag itself is locatable, not just a small tracker that could slip into a pocket somewhere, is real peace of mind. The included accessories are well thought out. Strong straps, useful dividers, and a dirty laundry bag tucked away in its own zip compartment on the side. The one I missed reading about at first was the fitted backup battery, which is a genuinely cool inclusion. It slots into its own dedicated compartment with the kind of fit that's clearly custom. My only concern there is the same custom fit, because if I ever lose it, finding a replacement that drops in exactly right is probably going to be a hassle. And it's worth remembering to pull the battery out if I ever check the bag at the gate, since lithium batteries can't fly in the hold. The telescoping handle is the one area where this carry-on doesn't quite match July's larger bags. It locks in the most important positions but isn't fully variable at every height the way the bigger pieces are. The handle itself also feels slightly less tank-like than what I've used on larger July suitcases. Both observations are minor though. For a carry-on, the handle does the job and adjusts widely enough that I can match it to whatever larger bag I'm wheeling alongside it. Now the part that gets harder. At a higher price point, this is a luxury purchase, not a casual one. The quality matches what I'd expect from a high-end brand at that price, and I think it earns the number on the tag. Worth it if you fly often and want gear that holds up. A genuine stretch if your budget is tighter. THE GOOD STUFF - Thick polycarbonate shell feels properly heavy-duty rather than just marketed that way - Built-in tracker integrates with the Google Find network and pairs in minutes - Real peace of mind knowing the bag itself is locatable, not just an accessory inside it - Smart accessories like a dedicated dirty laundry pouch with its own zip compartment - Fitted backup battery is a clever, useful inclusion - Telescoping handle adjusts widely enough to match other-brand suitcases when traveling together - Solid, non-expandable build prioritizes durability over a pile of extra zippers and stress points THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF - Luxury price tag, hard to justify if you're not flying often - Fitted battery is great until you lose it, since the custom shape makes replacement tricky - Handle isn't fully variable at every height, and feels a notch less rigid than larger July pieces - No expandable capacity, which is a feature some travelers really count on IN SUMMARY: If durability and tracking matter more to you than expandable storage, and the price isn't a dealbreaker, this is a strong carry-on. Go in expecting to pay for quality, and you'll get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Excellent Carry On Case Excellent Carry On Case
Color: Moss
This is heavy duty for a carry-on bag, and it’s excellent. The outer polycarbonate shell feels thick and durable along with being one of the most reputable shell types. The built-in tracker is a fantastic feature that really drew my eye to this luggage. I found it easy to pair with the Google find network. I’ve long liked to throw a tile tracker in my bags, and I feel like this provides nice additional peace of mind, and the confidence that the bag I’m carrying does have a tracker for the unexpected. There is a nice variety of anticipated features like dividers and straps that are strong. I’m a fan of the dirty clothes bag with its own zip compartment tucked away in the side. I didn’t read closely enough at first to notice the awesome inclusion of a fitted backup battery. I’m a little nervous that I will lose that at some point and have a hard time replacing it with one that fits so perfectly in the compartment. I’ll have to remember it’s there for removal if I ever check the bag while flying. I like that July bags have a widely adjustable handle height so I can match them with other brands if needed. This carry-on bag handle isn’t variable half-way up, but the important range is fully adjustable. This handle isn’t quite as rigid and tough feeling as the handles on my larger July bags, but I think it’s plenty sufficient for the needs of a carry-on. A tradeoff to consider is that many carry-ons are expandable with multiple ways to access the inside of the luggage. I think this makes the overall build of the bag less reliable, so it’s a personal decision whether this layout is best for you. If you want to emphasize durability, I think this is the way to go. Overall, an excellent bag. The features are well-thought, and I feel like the quality matches my expectations for an expensive brand. I have to admit that I’m still hard pressed to justify the $325 price on my budget, but for people with the money who want an excellent bag, I consider this a terrific choice. ... show more

  • CaseSafe Carry On
I got this because I wanted something that felt a little more organized for travel. When I packed it, I noticed how easy it was to separate things instead of digging through one big space. I rolled it around the house just to see how it handled and it moves smoothly without catching. I checked the lock and it felt simple to use without overthinking it. I tend to overpack a bit and it still handled everything I threw in there. ... show more

  • It’s PINK! And wonderful otherwise, too. It’s PINK! And wonderful otherwise, too.
This has all the bells and whistles I can imagine on a suitcase, other than not being zipperless. My zipperless July suitcase is the most brilliant suitcase I’ve ever seen, but this is a close second. The reinforced corners are metallic, the dust bag is nicer than the dustbag for any purse I own, and the wheels are wonderful. I hate travel with a passion, but I’m now *almost* looking forward to our next trip, and I even want to fly so I can really show this off. It has its own built in tracker as well as a 10000 mah battery pack that clicks in and out neatly and surreptitiously. I’ve only seen locking zippers like this on July and Away luggage, so that’s a neat feature. But the *pink* part may be the part I love the most. It’s beautiful and I’ll be proud to carry this anywhere. The one and only thing that could make it better is if it were zipperless. ... show more

  • Solid suitcase and modern
Incredibly smooth wheels and advanced security features. The unique separate compartment for laundry is a neat idea and definitely came in handy. It is not expandable, and still requires good packing to bring enough clothes for 5 days as advertised. I saw that it is made of Polycarbonate but could not find info on how much PC is used. These days, you want a 100% PC suitcase which is the most flexible (able to absorb the most impact without breaking). Overall a very well designed suitcase with good specifications like YKK zippers and TSA tech. ... show more
