I bought this set for my son who is 3.5 yo. It was a Christmas gift. He loves tools and this set had some pieces he didn't have yet. He was super excited about it when he opened. After less than 3 weeks the chainsaw completely broke into two pieces! First it started leaking grease on the rubber "chain" then it snapped. This is the only piece that's battery powered. I reached out to the company to try to get it replaced and was told since I purchased the product in October, it was over 90 days and no refund or replacement. The set is cheaply made. I wish I would have spent the money on a better set. The other tools are push trigger powered. My son doesn't care for them as much. Probably won't be long til the rest of the "power tools" break now. ... show more

These are fantastic. The only thing that needs batteries is the chainsaw. However the plastic piece on the bottom of the circular saw had a clip that broke off... So the guard comes off pretty easy. My kid still loves it and it will not affect anything.

It has ‘working’ parts and a nice container to store tools in. I don’t recall the recommended age for the kit, but I would suggest 2 to 5 years.
