I personally have always used a mens razor for my legs because they seem sharper and cut better. Women's razors are too big, bulky and do not give me the close shave I want on my legs. This year my daughter asked for a good woman's razor for Christmas so I had to dig through reviews to find a good one. I went through several magazine articles comparing women's razors, amazon reviews etc and ultimately ended up choosing this one. I'm glad I did. the Gilette razor head is like a mens head, without all the fru fru nonsense that is not needed when you use a shave oil or cream. Several blades that are sharp so you do not need to make several passes on your legs, increasing the risk of razor burn or cuts. The head moves with the curvature of the leg and the grip on the handle prevents slippage. It is lightweight and changing the razorhead is a simple click. Finally! Side note- when this order arrived the razor appeared used and reboxed and had to return it. Easy enough with amazon returns though. Exchanged quickly with Kohls drop off but my replacement arrivement after Christmas.

In general, I'm not picky about razors, but I was starting to feel very guilty about all the plastic waste I generate with toiletries. Along with other items, I decided razors were an area where I could reduce the waste for a nominal increase in cost (which I decided I could afford - YMMV). My criteria might be a bit different than others. I like to travel, and I like to pack very light. So when I buy something, size and weight really matter - even fractions of an ounce. I also have recently trialled the disposable Venus Intimate / Pubic blades and really liked them... but they're not great for large areas like legs, so now I have two razors in my shower. This meant for my upgrade, I was looking for a comfortable handle that I could see using for a few years, and two blade styles - one pubic, one regular. I don't care how many actual razor blades are on the regular heads; I find they all work well-enough. I ordered a Joy handle and regular blades, plus a Venus handle and the pubic blades. I'm very happy to report, they are indeed interchangeable. I will continue to order this mix for replacement blades (and if Joy ever makes a pubic blade, I'll happily try that too). I'll order a 2nd Joy handle so I have 2 in my shower, one in my travel kit. The attached pictures look a bit wonky, but it's just due to how close I positioned the camera lens. The top edges really were properly aligned to the edge of the ruler. The Joy handle is 1.0 oz., 5 5/8" long with head, metal core (I think) with silicone outer material, feels good in hand. Slightly shorter than the Venus handle. The set of blades I received came with safety covers that also fit the other brand. It was more substantial than I was expecting, well balanced. The silicone is somewhat sticky in a dry hand, but provides reasonable (non-sticky) grip in a wet hand. The Venus handle is 1.4 oz., 5 7/8" long with head, metal core (I think) with a rubbery texturized material under the fingers, feels good in hand, though different. Slightly longer, sleeker than Joy, but really quite similar. Seemed like a reasonable design while holding with a wet hand - not better or worse than the Joy. The set of blades I received (4-pack) came in a single holder... i'm not a fan, honestly. It's a lot of bulky plastic, and individual blades don't have their own covers. Fortunately, the Joy covers can work for travel with both types of blades. Each blade, with a cover, weighs 0.15 oz., regardless of manufacturer. For reference, the disposable Venus I was using was only 0.44 oz., and the drugstore regular blade I was using was 0.7 oz. My travel plan is to use the Joy handle, and bring two blades in my kit, totalling 1.3 oz. So my reusable items do weigh slightly more than 2 seperate disposable razors. But the reusables are much easier to pack - being able to seperate the heads makes the whole set more compact and there isn't a weird bulky angle where the handle meets the head (and weird bulky angles seem very common with disposable razors). I do actually wish the Joy handle was an even lighter plastic as another reviewer indicated... but then I suppose it would need replacement more often, which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid. Anyway, they're razors, they work well. I like that I can get both heads I like, while using a lighter Joy handle. And the colors - that's pretty nice too.

Best razor I have ever used, and I have used quite a few! I have never received as close of a shave or felt as much smoothness from any other razor! My skin is also SUPER sensitive, I get razor burn from pretty much any razor I use, but I didn’t get any razor burn at all after using this razor. Give it a try and see for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

I love the look of this razor. The blue film along the top came off over a few uses though. If your hands aren't soapy you can keep grip of it easily. However, I do notice if my hand is soapy and slips out of my hands easily - so I have to be aware of that.

This is honestly the best razor I’ve ever had in my 40ish years of shaving. And I’ve tried them ALL. I have always had trouble ripping my legs to shreds with every razor and blade type out there - brand has never made much of a difference. I have hand tremors and thought it was just a fact that I’d have shaving “accidents” half the time. Until now! This thing is amazing!! I’m a convert!!

I love the joy razor. I’ve used it since it was released maybe a decade ago. Sad they changed the head recently to have metal on both sides. Def causes more cuts, not sure why the change. This pack has original blades but don’t want a new handle each time
