Took a trip from Philly to Tennessee my wife wanted to do this line dancing thing said we should get dressed up blah blah blah. I never owned a pair of cowboy boots never expected to have my foot in a cowboy boot! I put these on and wow! They are super comfortable i did not expect it! I been wearing them the hole trip Nashville driving on the trail hiking running around with my dog through the creek in the mud! Hit them with a hose BAM like new again. Not only am I impressed but I will wear these on a regular when I go home from now on and will tell everyone how good they are. 100% cowboy boots fan now for life! I didn't know what i was missing

To be fair, I did notice that these boots weren't leather before I grabbed them, so I knew I shouldn't be expecting the feel of a typical western-style boot, but I wasn't really sure what I should expect. When they arrived, I tried them on and they fit really well. I'm not a big fan of the insole, and after years of wearing good quality leather boots, I don't really like the feel of the material. Compared to good leather, it feels kind of "squishy" to me. Well-worn leather definitely has a soft, supple feel to it, but this has a quilted feel, like there's some kind of spongy material between the layers, and I don't like that feel. The look is also a bit odd. It kind of looks like wood grain, almost. I'm not sure I like that either. The sole is nice and solid, so as long as you take decent care of the uppers, maybe they'll last okay. I have my doubts about the durability, especially because there's also a zipper on the side, which is a common point of failure. For my taste, I would probably give these 3 stars, but because the price is really good and the sole feels nice and sturdy, and they actually are fairly comfortable to wear, I'll be generous and go with 4.
