The tool's a little heavy. but, very solid! The feel of quality. A soft start feature helps put a 5° "big-bite" oscillate to work. Detented dial in speed control isn't real clearly defined, but seems better with use. better now. I absolutely would buy more. In fact, tho I thought 5° swing was gonna be cake right from the start. Actually That's the tricky part... The soft start and light pressure @ first helps, once you're on your line, yur target, or get it plugged into the groove. Roll on some controlled pressure, keeping in you're intended cut line- it goes like the wind, leave your started cut, and lead or trail a corner of the blade...as to draw a deep scratch where yur layout line was. Now, staying in the scratch, back up to the deep started cut...and plunge , seesaw your scratch line to a deep, deeper cut. ¼ to ⅓ the way square your progress up, to achieve the final desired result. The quick change blade feature, just might be the best I've seen & used... it just works! Right now, every time, any position, secure, fast, and positive engagement. Plus. not intrusively large, not keeping you out of the tight spots. All in all~ quite the tool! FIVE degrees is a major asset when sanding, just hold the Speed Down, it's Hard on the hook n loops so I like it very solid a little loud but there's a lot going on there the gearbox and everything feels solid it's a very good tool set, A great value!! I bought this item ultimately due to the $15 coupon offered. As of this writing there are no demo or product videos for this specific Jorgensen oscillating tool (not even on their website) I viewed a ton of oscillating tool videos and they all show the design of attaching and holding the blade to the tool head. Jorgensen doesn't show this. As soon as I opened the box I was disappointed with the flimsy blade mounting mechanism. The tool looked beefy in all the views offered online but again, the blade mounting mechanism was never pictured. Even right out of the box once I mounted a blade there was a .001 to.003 amount of play in the blade after fully locking the blade release lever in the closed position. With ANY wear with use this will become a problem. I suppose that's why there was a round mounting shim supplied. I am not returning the tool as I need it now and I am curious to see how durable in light, episodic home use this blade mounting design is. If I am wrong I will revise this review and write the company a follow-up letter. I like Jorgensen tools and this tool looks durable from all other visible aspects on the exterior. The lip on the expanding collet doesn't contact the blade except for the very rim of the blade's center bore diameter. I looked at about 25 to 30 other tool designs and this was the most "delicate" so I am anxious to see how this design holds up at 15,000 oscillations per minute cutting wood. The tool feels rather hefty and I see this as a positive durability signal but only actual use will tell. ... show more

Bought two of these tools. Other brand had a removable side handle I thought might be useful. Problem was it made more noise and vibrated more than this Jorgensen. The Jorgensen feels well made, not too heavy and easy blade change mechanism.

First time using a tool like this. Cuts perfect straight on the base board. Amazing. Easy to use. Very strong Two issues I had was that it was very hard to get the attachments on and off. Also while I was cutting two small pieces like a washer and nut fell off. Item still worked great but I still returned it. I’ll get another one just like it. ... show more
