At first, as a Sketchers Arch Support wearer, they were difficult to get used to. I am 75 and have a pronated right foot and weak arches. I thought I'd made a mistake buying them but have discovered that wearing totally supported shoes have emprisioned my feet and made them weaker. The Joomra shoes have a wide enough toe area to wear silicone toe separators!!!! I am thrilled! My left foot toes are crimped and now I can comfortably wear toes separators without pain or sandals. The foot bed now feels to be gently massaging my foot when I walk. Am taking them to Europe with me, but will not use them for long walks on hard pavement because they do not have enough support for me. I use them now around the house and garden, working out, and shopping.... Update August 1, 2024: Have been wearing them in Portugal practically every day. I've added an additional insole underneath the one that came with the Joomras which has made them so much more comfortable. I can now go on long walks without getting tired feet. One thing I've noticed is that my feet are a lot less tense because my toes can spread out now. The hammer toes on my left foot have even started to relax and flatten more. I also like hat I don't have to lace up the shoes and can just slip them on and then don't even have to pull the tightening chord to wear them comfortably. They also do not slip on the shiny, worn cobblestones here.... They stay cool, wear well in beach sand, and are easy to clean. I would definitely buy them again. Please note: I am NOT a paid reviewer...I am continuing to update this review because I think it might help others with problem feet. Update Sept. 30, 2024: Just machine washed my Joomras in hot water on a 2 1/2 hr. cycle. They came out looking and smelling great. I wear them every day b/c they are so comfortable. I especially like that they are easy to put on and tighten without having to tie shoelaces. Unfortunately, one of the pull on loops at the heel broke and I will have to sew it back on as it is hanging there. This is not a game changer.... Update: Oct 18, 2024: Washed my Joomras a second time and they still look like they just came out of the the box. I wear them every day now. They remind me of the padded moccasins I loved wearing 60 years ago! Update Oct. 24, 2024; you probably think I'm crazy to keep updating my review...but I just love these Joomra's so much I want to let everyone know my experience over time. I FORGOT TO NOTE THAT THE JOOMRAS ACTUALLY MAKE MY SIZE 11 N-M FEET LOOK SMALL AND TRENDY. Really, I'm 5'9" tall and 160lbs ...was worried that the size 11 would make my feet look big...like so many shoes I've worn. I have "Greek toes" (Big toe longest sloping to a tiny piinky). So nice and roomy even with socks! My feet really relax in them and I feel so grounded! I have read some of the negative reviews, and would agree that they are not the best for running...but walking on a firm surface is great. The extra insole I added underneath the one that came with them have made them super comfortable. They are certainly not like water shoes....they are much more supportive and not floppy or slippy at all....they also do not leak. They are not cheap material...I've washed them 2x now on long cycles with very hot water and they still are holding up fine. If I were back in the states I would definitely buy another pair because they are on sale now! December 18, 2024 update: I'm back in the US. There's snow and ice outside my house in the Catskill woods but I am still wearing my Joomras around the house to keep my feet warm. I have to say that they are vastly more comfortable and durable than my too quickly worn out LL Bean sheepskin lined mocs...that are now threadbare and flat as pancakes. The Joomras are still almost like new. The only thing I am not happy with (as mentioned above) is the pull loop at the heel broke on both...but I did pull too hard I guess... On a final note....I met a woman in Lisbon who told me that the reason she moved to Malaga Spain rather than Portugal is because she had a friend who slipped on the ubiquitous polished pavers and she was terrified of same. I used to slip on them too until I got my Joomras; but I don't have to worry about that anymore or slipping anywhere in the house (I'm 76 now). Am thinking now of wearing them to my gym work out.... Update: April 1, 2025 Joomras are definitely for warm days only....because they are incredibly well ventilated. I have tried to wear them as slippers around my cabin this winter (30-50 degrees F.)..but my feet freeze (in all fairness I have Hashimotos). I can put wool socks on but there is really no space for my toes then. Am thinking of buying my next pair a size larger...but that would land me in a size 12...which might make me look like bozo....Wish they came in half sizes.... P.S. They work really well at the gym! Ordered new Joomras in size 11-11.5.(43)..didn't realize my beloved greys only come 10.5-11. I was sent a black pair which are completely different from the pair I've been wearing. The size 43 does not have the lovely breathable crochet material, have a stiff velcro closure which is awkward to use, and a stretchy pull lace They fit ok but they are ugly---don't buy the Black 43! In the attached picture you can see my old ones on the left and the new black ones on the right. Notice how the old ones have held up. Update May 19th. Just got my new Joomras for the summer. Love the color! The old Joomras have expanded a bit but are still terrific and look almost new even though I've worn themb all last Summer and Fall and now in the Spring. A note of caution--don't buy the Joomras with the Velcro strap closing. It is badly designed. The pull cord works really well.

Not all Barefoot shoes are created equal. When I needed to replace this shoe I could not find it on Amazon so I tried the "Hike Barefoot" shoe. I am comparing this shoe to the Hike Barefoot Shoe. The foot support in this shoe is far superior to the Hike Barefoot shoe. The Hike shoe will be fine for beach, parks or in the home wear but this shoe can be worn on the trail. Through the sole of this shoe you feel the bump of stones, in the hike shoe you feel the point of the stone. I purchased my first pair in June 2024 wore them so much that the sole thinned to the point where i can feel the point of stones. The blue shoe is 12 months old still in great shape just not trail worthy. Photo 1 compares the Hike shoe and the Joomra sole, photo 2 new Joomra vs 12 month Joomra soles, photo 3 12 month Joomra. I will buy this shoe again! I forgot to add the intial reason I purchased barefoot shoes was to help with my chemo related foot pain, although it is not gone it is much improved with the barefoot Joomra shoe.

I've been looking for a long time for a shoe with a flat heel; I can't wear "flats" because hey slide off my heels. These are better than I expected. The heels are really too wide for my feet, but my toes are straightening out after just a week! And they may be helping some sore spots on the soles of my feet. I was nervous about the hardness of the sole, but they have insoles which help that. The bottom of my feet are sensitive, but these shoes are fine. I wouldn't want a thinner sole. I like the purple color too. For an inexpensive shoe, these really work well. I'll find out how well they hold up. I gave 4 stars because these don't come in a narrower shoe.

I’ve tried those expensive shoes that begin with the letter “H”. They were super uncomfortable with their high arches that cut into my foot and left me with pain pretty much all day. I am a preschool teacher and so I am on my feet most of the time thru the day, chasing children. The moment I put on these shoes, my foot felt so relaxed and natural. Nothing to poke my foot or mold it into an unnatural shape. The sole of super flexible and the shoe feels snug but not tight. Walking around in them feels nice so far. I will update later on as this is my first day wearing them! So far so good!!

I’m really excited to wear these shoes I’m 5.7 42 year old woman and a size 10 shoe and overweight on a weight loss journey, so to me it’s important to feel a little support on my feet, as I tried others and my feet would hurt at the end of the day, but not with these , they fit perfectly. Light weight yes but nevertheless they are still thick enough to feel you have support they don’t feel flat or to much cushion they are simply perfect. I will be buying more.

I'm delighted. I have been wearing Skechers and thought they were helping but my foot pain got steadily worse. These actually remove the pain so I wear them even around the house. I have away the $200 Skechers and was wearing flat shoes from Walmart (not barefoot) which didn't increase the pain but didn't remove it either. These will cause my feet to feel great, and stay that way when taken off. I have not found that they prevent slipping on my wet kitchen floor or if grease has fallen there.

I usually wear a 9-9.5 in regular shoes so I wasn’t sure which size to order since I was reading reviews online saying that barefoot shoes size a little differently. I also wasn’t sure if these were true barefoot shoes that needed special socks to go with them or if I could wear them with regular socks. Well, the size 10 fit perfect so I’d recommend to go up half a size… and you can wear these with regular socks. They are also so comfortable :)
