I decided to buy this cologne on impulse and I am not disappointed. First off the presentation is great, it comes in an opaque cloudy white flask with white wicker imperfectly weaved around it, really living up to its name "Artisan." The scent itself is great. It has a strong lemon scent with citrus leaves and musky and woody undertones. It smells good when you first apply it, but it starts to smell even better after it dries, the citric scents become more nuanced (though still prevalent) and the woody and orange blossom scents become a bit more noticeable. The one complaint I have is that it doesn't last very long; it's usually gone after about three hours so you might want to invest in a travel sprayer if you'd like to reapply later on when you're away from home. Overall, it's a great summer cologne that I'd definitely recommend to anyone. ... show more

Let me state first there was a mix-up at the warehouse when I ordered this item a couple weeks ago. Amazon was very good about the whole thing and they eventually fixed the problem. With that said, I reordered it and it arrived as promised. I own virtually all of the John Varvatos line. When I first tried this one, it opens with a big citrus note but the true gem of this fragrance is as it dries down to a woodsy, sweet, musky, light citrus dry down. Nice work friendly scent. Pretty weak unfortunately like most of the John Varvatos scents. Fairly weak projection and dry down is 1hr then it's a skin scent. Gone before lunch. Need to put it into an atomizer to reapply throughout the day, which is kind of annoying. Too bad because this is a nice lemon scent. ... show more

I like it a lot!! It is my new favorite. I like all of the John Varvatos scents. It was hard to pick just one. I can't afford the Eau de Toilette I really loved (from another designer) because it is now $200+. This one is a great alternative. I have no complaint. I would recommend it.

    • My new favorite scent - definitely sticking with it.
I really like the hint of citrus to this scent especially the finish. For the high cost, in my opinion, the scent should last a little longer but overall I still like it and plan to stick with it. My wife likes it too and that’s rare so it’s a good. My only comment on the bottle design is the cap is a bit hard to take off each time, could just be me but it always seems like it should be easier. ... show more
