The color is very rich and didn't wash out at all in the laundry. They aren't very absorbent and almost resist moisture, so that was a strange element. The fabric is very light and breezy and while it says 100% cotton, it really seems more like a blend to me. The edges are finished but not very well so they are not flat but rather kind of curly or wavy. If you want them to be flat, you'd have to iron them. So, in that way, I would use them more for casual gatherings or everyday use. In the photos they look more pressed and flat but I agree with the description that they are "rustic" in style.
