Yes you have to be careful when you unravel them because they tangle very easily. After charging them in the sunlight for a day they worked really well. They will not work at night if there is any light shining on the solar panels. When I cover the solar panels with my hand the lights work after being charged up which is how I test them. These are small lights, like rice, but they are nice and bright and I'm very happy with them. They were not terribly easy to install, the wire has to be unspooled and is easy to tangle, but they are worth the effort. They just don't turn on, and sometimes they do,they haven't been on for at least four days and it's been like this since day one I have replaced the rechargeable batteries with new ones, it's been sunny every day and still don't work just when they feel like it they'll turn on and besides I ordered white lights and I got blue light ones I need some that will work all the time 😡 ... show more

These work pretty well, if they are in CONSTANT, 8-hour sunlight. In the beginning of Fall when we still had warm days full of sunshine until 8pm, these were great. They were bright, vibrant and lasted about 6 hours before they dimmed out. Then the shorter days came. Colder, more overcast days came. Rainy, gloomy days came. When they were not in direct sunlight all day long they only lasted and hour, if that, once nightfall came. And they were not vinbrant at all. I would have thought, “these are solar and there is less sun…to be expected” however, I bought many different colored lights from another brand and it wasn’t the case with the other brand. Even on rainy, cloudy, overcast, not-as-much-sun days, the other brand remained bright and vibrant for hours longer than these lights. From personal experience with different brands, these lights just aren’t something I will be purchasing again based on the issues above. ... show more

My husband bought this to add some accents to our Halloween decorations. Let me just save you some time and frustration: go ahead and unravel the WHOLE thing before you try using them anywhere. My husband bought this to add some accents to our Halloween decorations… But it comes tangled (even if it may not look like it) and then continues to get worse as you go. Since I chose to weave these into my giant spider web, it was hours of really aggravating tangles that forced me to stop, try and manage the mess and keep going. The lights themselves look great! I love the solar power aspect, and the different modes you can use. Overall, very effective for the price. But do what I did with the second strand; unravel the whole thing, and find something that you can wind it onto, and go from there. You’ll thank me later I promise. ... show more

I love these lights ! They are a nice bright purple color. The solar power works great - the lights stay on for awhile. I did get them tangled while hanging them up but it was easy to untangle them.
