I was so surprised that the seller sent a pair of gloves and a scissor together with the item I bought. This fence is versatile that it can be used as a parapet of the flowers. It's made of iron and heavy, so it should hold up well in the soil. I like it so much.

I ordered these barrier fences to help get rabbits out of our backyard and prevent opossums from taking up residence. The rabbits are destructive to the garden and some outdoor lights. Apparently, they will bite/chew the cords, which they did. They ruined quite a few sets. The box includes a pair of gloves, cable ties, cutting pliers and snaps to hold the fence sections together in addition to the 10 fences. The gloves and pliers are a thoughtful and appreciated touch. You can use the cable ties instead of the snaps if desired. I like that you have an option. The fence sections are ready to put in the ground. Some competitors’ fences come in two sections: the fence and the legs that go into the ground that you must connect first. The legs on these are long, so you can push them far into the ground so they stay put. The fence is made of galvanized steel with a rust-resistant finish. The steel is thick enough to push them extremely hard into dry ground, and they don’t bend. I have placed the fence sections in areas along my fence where the pickets don’t meet the ground, and I know the rabbits come and go at will. I don’t have enough to cover all the places, but I wanted to see if the fence would successfully keep the rabbits from going through the slats before ordering more. I haven’t been able to verify it yet, but I’m watching—and hoping! These are extremely well constructed, and the kit includes everything you need to get them in place quickly. ... show more

The design for the fence is appealing enough for some front garden bed lining, and it wasn’t difficult to put together. I could see ordering more for aesthetic purposes. As for the advertised “animal barrier” approach, I don’t see it being beneficial. I work in horticulture and landscaping, and I’m certain the size and durability of this product will not deter many animals seeking a meal. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We recently moved a new home with our two fur-baby dogs. The back fence had gaps at the bottom that were large for one of the dogs (a very active runner who likes to dig!) to squeeze his way out of. I ordered a 10-pack of these fence panels to block off our dogs' access to the fence gaps. The fence panels arrived neatly packaged with installation accessories (such as installation mittens, a small set of wire clippers, and small plastic connector pieces) and printed instructions included. My husband did the actual installing and did not use the mittens (FYI, the mittens seemed a bit flimsy, but might have helped if there had been rough edges on the fence panels; fortunately the fence panels were smooth). We waited until after a rainstorm to install the panels. The ground was wet and soft from the rain, so we did not need to use a hammer or mallet to push the the fence panels into the ground. Also, the ends of each fence panel are pointed and spikey/sharp (see attached photos), which helped them slide easily into the ground. After sliding the fence panels into the ground, we used the enclosed plastic clips to connect the panels together. I have attached a video of the installation process. Not sure how long the panels will last or how difficult it might have been to install them into hard, dry ground with a hammer. However, at the current price point, we plan on just picking up more in a year or so if the current ones bend or rust over time. These turned out to be a life saver (or a dog saver, to be more accurate!) for us. Very, very happy with them and will be ordering more to block a few more gaps in other areas of our fencing. ... show more

    • I have several types of these barriers, this is my favorite

After trying out a half dozen different barriers of this type, this is by far the best. It comes with zip ties as well as S-connectors, gloves and nippers to remove the tails of the zip ties, so lots of options to stabilize. As with all of these barriers, use a piece of wood on top of the barrier while hammering it in to protect the panel - but these actually do go into the soil much easier than others. The style is attractive when used as a garden bed barrier too. The only thing I would change is that the zip ties are white - if the zip ties were black they would almost disappear. ... show more

Because this pack only had 10 feet, I’m using these along my fence in strategic spots where the fence doesn’t quite meet the ground and therefore offers an excellent entry point for all these critters that are trying (with significant success) to get into my garden. I like that these are rustproof where others have failed really quickly under Florida rains, and just generally look ugly. Another thing is that they are pretty low to the ground and not giant decorative panels which are somewhat of an eye sore. I can plant plants up against these to hide them, while still getting the benefit of blocking the critters. 1.65" of space between the grates is nice and tight, because it stops most of the truly damaging critters, but do know that squirrels or other tiny climbers will jump down from the fence, or wriggle through this gap, no matter what. 

 BONUS: We back up to a state park, and there’s no telling what wildlife shows up along our back fence trying to get under, to say nothing of the various free range cats that roam through our neighborhood. These panels stop a lot of that wandering in and out of my backyard, whether they had garden pillaging intentions or not, and this lack of activity keeps my dogs quiet during the middle of the day when I work from home!
