The material is not a cotton or linen, more of a sheen, with pull down shades I would recommend as room darkening. Nice curtains. They are blackout, nice and heavy, good quality. I only deducted a star because the black design on beige curtains are more tan/ivory in person than they look in the picture....I wish they were a tad lighter and more neutral as pictured.

Keeps the heat out. When I pulled back the curtain, I could feel the heat trapped on the black side facing the window. The opposite side did not feel warm at all. I like the way they look with a mustard yellow color. They are soft to the touch. They did not seem wrinkled out of the package, I have not washed them yet so I am unsure of that. The length was as stated. Overall, I do like these a lot!
