My kids obviously vary in size and weight but my oldest SHOULD still be able to use this according to the weight limit which is why I decided on this one. But he is 170 pounds and it says it can hold 220. This thing goes SUPER slow with 170 pounds on it and it also looks like it’s going to fold in the middle. I can not imagine what would happen if I got on it at 220 and tried to ride it. I would say 150 pounds AT BEST!!! ... show more

    • Get a different brand
I bought this with a chair attachment that essentially turns it into a battery powered go cart. It was working fine until it stopped. It has a “safety feature” where if you’re going too fast it will beep. Instead of having,say, a governor that keeps it from surpassing the max speed, which is supposed to be 7 mph, it just shuts off. Now imagine being on a go cart that has just shut down while you’re going it’s max speed. No control. You can’t stop. You can’t steer. You just stop when you hit something. I couldn’t imagine being on it standing when it shuts off. My kid almost got seriously hurt. This thing is garbage. I picked it cause it was the cheap one, but shame on me I got what I paid for. Just get a different brand. One that has a better safety feature and just doesn’t shut off and leave you to the mercy of your own momentum. ... show more

    • Poor quality. Internal pieces broke on light use
Very poor quality. Mu son has lightly used and it has started making all kind of noise. In inspection we found some parts are broken inside and it becomes unusable. Disnt last a month.

Ok I gave it a try and that was enough for me. Thankfully I did not get this hoverboard for myself. Thought that maybe my guys would have some fun with it. I was right. Now it took them a bit to get the hang of it even though they have been riding ripsticks for umpteen years this is different in some ways than those. Does hold a charge for a good long time. It is a fun toy that you just have to be careful with because one wrong move and ouch! ... show more

This hoverboard works really well. I'm 6' 165 lbs and can zoom along at the max clip of about 7 mph when on sidewalk. It's iffy when it comes to rougher terrain. There's old pavement in front of my office that has lots of loose gravel. If I'm at speed I can skid over the top of this but if I go to slow the wheels chug to a stop. Lighter folks would probably have better experience in rougher surfaces. This is most fun on smooth concrete. I ride it through the halls at work and we have industrial carpet. It's slow to start but still possible. Battery capacity is enough for fun but I have been surprised by needing to recharge often. I'm not a lightweight but I'm also not maxing this out. I expect a lighter passenger would get more mileage. Math... I feel pretty comfortable with the Jetson name and build quality. It's a toy but a decent one. ... show more
