  • Overall good scooter
Overall this is a very good scooter. I would give it a 5 star rating. However, a few things about assembly make it challenging to give it 5 stars. The instructions appear to be "translated" from some language to english. This provides some confusing for assembly. You must take the wires and stuff them in the stem. This is not unusual. But the real issue here is you must fold the wires in. The easiest way I found to put the wires in is to remove the front plastic cover for the speaker and wires. Then run the wires down and up again. However, I HIGHLY recommend the manufacture do this work at the factory. Their is no reason I can tell that its required to have the handle bars detached from the scooter. Having the customer do this make it prone to error in assembly and quality. You can very easily damage the wires if not careful. All said, one issue with mine was the headlamp was dead on arrival. The scooter works just fine and the rear LED lights work just fine. Its just the front headlamp. I took the whole thing apart (no recommended by any means), fixed the wires, re-soldered everything to the lamp, and its working just fine now. I suspect when I attached the handle bars the "sloppy" connection the the lamps disconnected the wires. This was not simple to remove so I DO NOT recommend doing this unless you are skilled in both dis-assembly and assembly. Since this was a VINE item I have no option to return. However, I suspect that I can do a warranty claim but that was not necessary in my mind for just a headlamp that I would likely only use a few times a year. That aside, the scooter. The scooter has 3 speeds (E, N, S), E caps at 4mph, N 9mph and S 15mph. This is really handy for sure. I normally use 9mph. If you hold down the speed at max speed for I believe around 5-10 seconds the scooter will remain at that speed. Battery charge, charging is very simple. Under normal use I was able to ride for about 3 hours and still have about 50% charge. this will be "highly" dependent on riders weight, up or down hill use, and outside heat along with road conditions. But range seems pretty decent for about 180lbs adult. Lastly, folding, storage and portability. This is very easy to fold. I can easily fit this in the small trunk of my mini cooper. I bring this back and forth to work. ... show more

  • Decent scooter, but lacks power for hills
This is a heavy duty scooter. It weighs quite a bit, so I would not consider it a portable scooter. I was hoping to use this around my neighborhood, which is up a fairly steep hill. Sadly, this scooter really struggles going up steeper hills, so I will mostly be using it for flat and low incline areas. It did not come with any instructions, so make sure to watch the video in the description. Also, I was unable to get two of the screws to screw into the handle because the holes did not line up properly. I have to question the quality of the machining. To get moving, you have to kick start it a couple of times before the power unit kicks in, then it takes off. On flat surfaces it really moves, but as soon as I turn to go uphill, it slows down to a crawl, even in the Advanced mode. It has a cute little set of brake lights on the rear fender. The controls are not difficult to use, but the initials used for the 3 modes are not intuitive and do not correspond to the Beginner, Intermediate and Advance names referred to in the manual. It has a speaker and a phone holder so you can listen to tunes while rider. I did not try this feature. Overall, a decent scooter for fun riding. Powerful enough for flat streets and low inclines. Most scooters like this are nearly twice the price, but do have more power. But for the cost, this is a solid choice. ... show more

  • Fun scooter, rides a bit rough
This scooter has some pretty decent features. Nice that is comes stock with a phone holder and has Bluetooth capability with a speaker that you can use to rock some tunes while riding. We charged it up and used it a little then let it sit in the garage for a week or so. The battery still showed about 75%, so I took it for a ride down the road to the neighbor's house. About a quarter mile ride, when I got just about there the scooter flashed an E-7 on the display and completely shut down. I pushed it the rest of the way there and let it sit for a while. After it died it wouldn't respond to me pressing any buttons of any sort. When I went to leave, it powered back up so I figured it was just a one time fluke. I went to ride home and this time I got about 200 feet before the same thing happened. No response to power button, etc. I ended up just manually scooting back to my house and plugged it back in. The next ride I went on was about 2 miles and had absolutely no issues. I'm not sure what the error was all about but time will tell if it shows itself again. So far, that's been the only negative experience with the scooter. Other than that, it's about what you would expect. Not as nice as a Ninebot, the tires are smaller than big name scooters but for the price point this scooter will work just as well. As I said in the headline, ride is rough due to the small tires. It scrapes when to try to go over a speed bump so be careful on those. The headlight works great, it's nice and bright and lets you easily ride at night. I also like that it holds the speed after a short time so you don't have to keep pressing the throttle while riding. I felt like the speedometer was incorrect, but it's spot on. I rode past a school with a radar sign and it matched the display at every speed from 9-15MPH. Brake is very touchy, so also be careful when engaging the electronic brake. ... show more
