Unlike every other pot for cheaper, this one has an insulating jacket to keep your ramen from becoming somen within minutes. I made the mistake of buying another brand at half the price. While it also had a “flux ring,” aka heat exchanger, for faster boiling, it wasn’t insulated. The result was cold ramen within minutes while doing some late autumn camping at near freezing temperatures. After just 1 trip, I replaced it with this and found it capable of keeping my food at an edible temperature for long enough that I can eat it. The $10 pot support is necessary. Your burner will fit within the flux ring but without a gap you’ll just suffocate the flame. The support, with my v1 Jetboil burner, creates a locked and stable platform for cooking on uneven surfaces. That fit ensures the tall and unbalanced setup stays upright during a rolling boil. The pot support even fits inside the standard kit, keeping my stuff together so I don’t lose anything. Boiling point is reached only a few seconds longer than compared to my Jetboil mug. I have no complaints about the performance. My only complaint is the weak little tab used as a lid handle. There’s no need for it to be this small and fragile. The folding side handle rises nearly 1cm above the lid, when folded, leaving more than enough space for a durable, fixed design. Clearly a case of the designer being more clever than smart. Because of this, I’m sure this folding tab will fall off, and be lost forever, within a year. Making me use a knife to remove the lid, then have to “gaffer tape engineer” a solution, takes a star from the rating. ... show more

This was a great size for 2 people. I took it backpacking and the weight was fine for 2 nights. We could make plenty of water for coffee, or make ramen for the both of us. It feels durable and easy to use.

I use this with my alcohol cat can stoves and it works great. Boils water faster and combo cook and bowl. The new ceramic coating cleans up very easily. Wish I could get a 1 liter version, but the 1.5 dies the trick. Well made !! Yes, I have used this in the backcountry for multi day trips.
