So size is measured by pulling the tentacles taught. This plush is small and better suited for small children. However, my 11 yr old loves it and has been sleeping with it every night since Christmas.

Our daughter loves this so much she ended up destroying the first one by sucking/biting it too hard (there are plastic beads inside that started to come out). We bought a replacement which she loves just as much, although this one one of the tentacles has straightened out somehow. For as pricey as this is we expected it to last longer, but our daughter loves it in any case.

This is the perfect toy. We have lots of jellycat in our house but this one is my sons favorite! It’s so soft as per usual and it’s so fun with the way they made the tentacles to bounce. The medium is the perfect size too! Super snuggly. Love the color. And a major plus, it looks like the octopus from finding dory which is his favorite movie!
