One of the biggest problems I have with my truck is backing up at night. I don't know if it my old eyes, or the window tint, but I really have a problem seeing. I tried several bulb sets. The first were the crystal vision Phillips bulbs. They worked OK, but were not much brighter than the stock bulbs. Then I tried a very expensive set of LED bulbs, but unfortunately I didn't read the full description and they were part clear and part amber. I put them in my daughter's car's front turn signal bulbs. This i a review of a set of LED JDM ASTAR Backup Bulbs I bought from Amazon. For $20, they are a good value although not much brighter than the crystal vision bulbs. Installation Even though I used dielectric grease on the bulb's contacts, the contacts did not make a good connection in the socket. When I twisted the socket in the tail light, the light went out. I noticed that the bulbs fit loosely in the sockets and were able to rock back and forth a little. The fix was relatively easy. A little prying up on the contacts in the socket fixed the problem. My Chrystal Visions fit tight and had no problems. Performance Although I don't believe the bulbs are brighter than the Philips bulbs I replaced, the dispersion of the light is much better. The phillips bulbs are like a standard camera lense and these JDM LEDs are like a wide angle lense. In my opinion, these bulbs are a great value at only $20, and a good upgrade for any vehicle. Pay attention when installing them that they make a good and steady contact with the terminals in your taillight socket. ... show more

Perfect and hopefully safer in dark or white-out conditions. The only observation is that the blink rate is faster, like when a bulb is burnt out, but that doesn't bother me.

    • A must have if you are backing up trailers in the dark!
Step up your backup light game to the next level! I fish a lot and often times end up have to back up a trailer in the dark, and hit an unlit driveway at an angle. These lights throw a ton of light making it much easier to navigate my trailer around a sharp corner and down a long driveway. These bulbs do not fit as reverse lights for my Avalanche. They do fit as DRL’s. Undecided if I’m keeping them. My DRLS are intermittent but they did come on once while o had these bulbs in and they are super bright

    • Only one works...
The one that works looks good, I’m concerned about the quality since only one worked. I switched it to the working socket however it won’t turn on. Checked all my fuses and voltage, all is good, just got a defective product.
