From the photos this didn't look very sturdy and kind of silly to have an adjustable rake. Wow was I wrong. I found myself adjusting the rake for the situation. It gets between tight areas that would be missed with a conventional rake. It has become my go-to rake.

When I got this thing it seem fairly flimsy compared to the one before but it has surprisingly held up quite well. The only thing I'm worried about is the plastic thing that is used to adjust the width of the rake. It seems like it might break at any time.

I needed rakes. What's the joke.. you know you are an adult when you have a favorite spatula? well, I think same can be said of rakes. My old metal wire rake eventually broke, as well as my plastic rake. I was rakeless! I needed to replace my metal rake and my plastic rake at same time. Figuring to get one at a time, I looked for wire rakes first. I find I always need both, and they are good for different situations. I haven't found a plastic rake I want yet online, but I was able to find a metal rake with this Jardineer adjustable rake. As expected, it can be adjusted in both handle length (very important feature for me), as well as in the width, tension of the tines. I do yard clean up and some landscaping jobs, so I need an assortment of tools to get the jobs done. The adjustable handle not only allows me to create the length I need for my height, but also for reaching hard to access spots, as well as storing in my truck when done for the day. Expandable Head from 7" to 23"- Makes it perfect for getting into tight spots, or for more general raking by using widest setting. Nice long 63" adjustable, telescoping pole provides lots of reach options. So far so good.. quite pleased with this rake. ... show more

This is the ideal rake to have for either big or small jobs. Rather than having to purchase 2 separate rakes, all I need is this one. When it comes to picking up leaves in the yard, it does a great job at that with the wide span of the rake itself. However, when I want to rake up the weeds in my garden, I just unlock the lever and make the rake smaller. This way I'm able to get in between my plants without destroying or killing them. Then when I am done raking through the garden and the weeds are on my yard, I can just adjust the rake to make it wide again and rake them up with the leaves. When it comes to storing this, I'm able to twist the handle to have it drop inside of the bottom handle, pull the lever to make the rake smaller and this way it doesn't take up much space. What I love about this rake is the versatility of the size. It's perfect when the handle is all the way up since I'm tall, but when my wife uses it, she can adjust the handle so it's more comfortable for her to hold since she's shorter. Another thing I was impressed with this rake were the tines. They do not bend while you rake so when you're done, they are still in the same uniform design, unlike other rakes I've owned that become bent and out of shape. This thing is great! I can use it in my garden reduced to about 50% of max and it works perfectly and when I want to rake leaves in the yard it will expand to a full width yard rake. It is easy to adjust, strong and still light so it does not wear me out after using it for a few minutes. I love that it does not take up much room and the size and the compact tines when put away for storage makes it easy, I hated my old rake because it was always getting hung on something when I would put it away or get it out of the garage. I liked that the rake is light weight and is adjustable. But I don't like is the rake will not stay in the extended position while using it. It seems the plastic lever is not strong enough to hold the handle in a extended position.

I bought this for clearing my trail to my stand off, I don’t need to break another ankle from unseen litter under the leaves. It fold’s up nicely, but it is weakly made as far as the working end, just be easy with it.
