  • Solid Budget Saws
These are great. Great quality for the price and the saws cut through like a warm knife through butter. They feel nice in your hands and working them for longer times is fairly comfortable.

  • Amazing sharp precise fine hand saw.
I purchased these Japanese hand saws to assemble wood gear clock kits. They cut through wood with surgical accuracy and ease. I found myself using them for tasks I often performed with power tools. Amazing quality, ease of use and precision for very little money.

  • Well built and extremely sharp
The only reason these saw’s didn’t get 5 stars is because I haven’t used them enough to know how durable they are. They are well built and extremely sharp. I’ve cut hardwood ( oak ) and softwood ( pine ) . I don’t know how they can sell theses at $7.50 a set.

  • Sharp and Accurate Japanese Hand Saw Set with Specific Uses
This set includes two small Japanese style hand saws, which is impressive considering the price of about $9. Both saws are made from SK5 high carbon steel and are designed to cut on the pull stroke rather than the push stroke used by most western saws. Cutting on the pull stroke keeps the thin blade under tension, which allows for smoother, more accurate cuts with less effort. 🪚 The first saw in the set is a straight, double-edged saw commonly known as a Ryoba saw. This is generally considered a finishing saw. The blade is very thin and flexible, but still strong. That flexibility allows it to make precise, clean cuts, especially for fine woodworking tasks. It works well for detailed joinery such as dovetails, trimming dowels, or cutting wood plugs flush with a surface. Because the blade is thin, it can get very close to the base material without marring it. This Ryoba saw is double sided, with each side designed for a different purpose. One side has fewer, larger teeth intended for cutting softwoods. The other side has more, finer teeth designed for hardwoods. That versatility makes it a very useful tool when working with different wood types. The second saw is a Kataba saw. This saw has a single cutting edge and a more tapered spine (though it is also quite thin), which makes it better suited for deeper cuts. It works well on thicker stock and is also useful for trim work where accuracy and clean edges matter. It provides good control and smooth results when used correctly. It is important to understand that these are not general-purpose saws. They are precision woodworking tools designed for specific tasks. Using them incorrectly or trying to force them through inappropriate materials can easily bend the blade or damage the saw. They should be used carefully and only on wood, following the proper pull stroke technique. The product page mentions replaceable blades, but the blades appear to be riveted in place. I did not see an obvious or easy way to replace them, so that claim is questionable. Both saws are very sharp right out of the box and produce clean, precise cuts when used as intended. The pull stroke action may feel unfamiliar at first if you are used to western saws, but once you adjust, it feels natural and efficient. Using the saw incorrectly by pushing instead of pulling can damage the blade, so proper technique matters. For the price ($9 when I ordered), this is a decent set. If treated properly and used for the tasks they are designed for, these saws should last a few years. For anyone interested in woodworking or learning to use Japanese style tools, this is a good value. ... show more

  • Good value
Works well, but can't comment on durability.

  • These are absolute garbage! Stay away!
The media could not be loaded. These hand saws are garbage and I'm throwing them directly in the trash. I picked up the first saw and immediately noticed that the rivets were loose. I then picked up the second and noticed it was even worse! The wooden handles are cheap and poorly finished, the blades don't cut very well and quite frankly it's dangerous to use these saws with the handles being as loose as they are. This company should be removed as a seller from Amazon. There are plenty of dramatically-better, equally-affordable, options out there! ... show more
