  • Handy little saws.
Size: Double-Edge
Well worth the money. Cuts well

  • Works fine-perhaps you will need something with more teeth and a thinner blade.
Size: Double-Edge
Cuts very well. Can’t believe it costs less than $5.00. Great buy for the money. The blade is quite sturdy for a saw that doesn't have a back support. Does not cut as fine as a saw with more teeth but it works fine for my application of small wood working projects. Cut a piece of black walnut with it and it worked well. ... show more

  • Great little saw

  • Nice little pull saw
Size: Double-Edge
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This is not my first pull saw, this one's pretty good. The size is nice for working and storage. Haven't used it a ton yet, but what I have used it on went quickly. The blade is flexible, making it great for making things level. I did notice that even right out of the box the blade is a bit loose in the handle. Not like it's going to fall out or anything, but tolerances aren't the best. It wiggles about a millimeter. ... show more

  • Nice Pull Saw
Size: Double-Edge
This review is for "Japanese Hand Saw, 6 Inch Pull Saw with Double Edges of 11/17 TPI, SK5 Flexible Blade Handle Wood Saws for Woodworking Tools", by Husfunov. I did not see an item number, but it's ASIN B0F1XZSGC6. Title and ASIN are included in the review because sometimes reviews get re-sorted and are no longer associated with the correct product. The Husfunov pull saw shipped quickly and was packaged in a ply bag. Within the poly shipping bag, the saw arrived retail packaged in a black paper box with writing and images on it. There was no padding to prevent transit damage, and the paper box had been crushed. The Husfunov pull saw looks much like other pull saws I've used, though my immediate thought is that it feels very stiff. I tested out the Husfunov pull saw on a couple of dowels and the saw cut both quickly and cleanly. I drilled a hole in some scrap wood, inserted the dowel, then cut it off to see how well the Husfunov does with flush cutting. It managed to cut the dowel flush, but because the blade is so stiff I found it more difficult to use that other flush cut saws I've used before. I pulled out a much older flush cut saw to make a direct comparison (see photos). When compared to my Veritas pull saw, the Husfunov is stiffer and the blade is thicker. I pulled out my Mitutoyo micrometer and measured the thickness of the Husfunov's blade at 0.031in whereas the Veritas is 0.020in. The teeth on the Husfunov are much larger that on the Veritas, I measure them at about 0.13in as compared to about 0.075in for the Veritas. The Amazon listing indicates that the Husfunov teeth are 17 TPI on one side and 11 TPI on the other, whereas the Veritas has 22 TPI teeth on both sides. I thought about how I could demonstrate the relative flexibility of the two pull saws and came up with an idea. I clamped the two pull saws together at the tip with a C clamp, then inserted a block of wood between the handles of the saws. One can see how much each of the two blades flexed in this situation (see photo). The Husfunov pull saw does not come with a blade guard. I like to use the bar from a sliding bar report cover. Cut the plastic bar to length and it slips on, stays on, and allows you to see the saw much better than if you were to make a sheath from cardboard. I used the Husfunov pull saw today to make a flush cut through plywood. I have a shelving unit in the garage which I built myself from plywood. The back of the unit is 1/4in plywood, and it covers an outlet box that I wanted to make use of. One shelf was particularly close to the height of the receptacle, so I use the Husfunov pull saw to make a flush cut against the bottom edge of a shelf. This allowed me to make the cut from the "front" side of the shelving unit so I could be certain to line it up with the edge of the shelf. This worked quite well, and for this purpose the thicker blade and more aggressive teeth made the Husfunov a much better choice than the Veritas for this job! The Husfunov seems to be a fine pull saw, capable of both regular and flush cuts. However, due to the more flexible blade I'll probably stick with the Veritas for flush cuts. ... show more

  • Great value for small jobs, not a fast saw.
Size: Double-Edge
Overall, for the price, I'm happy enough with this saw for my intended use - which is for final parting of turnings from my wood lathe (THB, the teeth are a bit "grippy" for this). However, not recommended if you're looking for a tenon saw. It's very very slow when taking on hardwood end-grain but will reasonably handle cross grain cuts - but it's not a fast saw. The teeth appear arc hardened with a very light set to them. The blade is flexible but not quite as flexible as the product images imply and appears to be thinly coated in an enamel of some kind. The handle isn't bad but could be better. It provides a solid grip and has the feel of being sanded to maybe 150-ish grit and finished and possibly stained. The slot for the saw blade has very square corners and is a bit sharp in the hand and the blade does move a bit in the handle, it rocks up and down but not in and out - maybe it's a feature? The lack of a sheath is inconvenient and I'll have to come up with something to protect the teeth (and protect things from the teeth). For now I'm just putting it back in its product box. ... show more

  • Great value
Size: Double-Edge
Why did you pick this product vs others?: This saw lives in my truck tool bag and used at least once a week. Clean cuts and really easy to use. Great value. Will buy again when this one gets dull. My only wish was for the rivets on the handle to have been a bit tighter, they have come loose, but it hasn't affected their performance. ... show more
