I bought my son a fun design off brand backpack that after a month is already falling apart so I bought this with some iron on patches to make it fun. Good quality but I probably should have spent more money to get extra accessories built in. I wish it had a water bottle pocket/holder on the outside side and a laptop pocket inside because my kid is required to bring a water bottle and his chrome book every day but it does have plenty of room and padding on the back and very padded shoulder straps! We all know jansport is the longest lasting brand and I am happy with the purchase. I knocked off a star because some threads were already coming off (top left of the backpack you can see in the photo) and the fact that it doesn't have the accessories mentioned before for the price point paid. I already ironed on the patches in the photos but it is plain black and looked just as pictured! ... show more

I was starting freshman year of High School when I first went to a store and bought this black Jansport. It survived all of High School, various vacations, moving from place to place, camping trips, hiking, work bag, beach bag, etc. That bag went through it all, 10 years. It took 10 years for it to finally kick the bucket and stop zipping properly. Comfort, reliability, this bag will NEVER let you down! It even got attacked by a vacuum cleaner and still served it’s purpose and did it’s job well. I bought this gray Jansport to replace my beloved black backpack. I added a photo of my beloved Jansport, my new Jansport and a photo from 2017 of when black bag accompanied me on a hike in the Smokies. My Jansport bag has brought me lots of happiness and I cannot wait to see where I go carrying this gray Jansport on my back. ... show more

I've been going back and forth between this bag and the North Face Jester backpack you know the oddly shaped one, While both brands are highly recommended I chose to go with JanSport. I couldn't think of a reason to justify spending $68 dollars on an oval-shaped bag that looks congested (lol). just needed a simple black bag that could hold all of my crap. Got here in time which is what we where worried about, they make them more comfortable for the kids cushions on the inside and on the straps which is great. Price couldn’t beat it as well.

Got this to hold whatever extra clothes, snacks, and any crafts the kid does at day care. Little did I know it could engulf the child. I can't really speak to how water resistant it is but the size is great. A few more compartments and I think it would be even better for traveling.

Every year I but my children Jansport backpacks. But this year was the first year I purchased from Amazon. And glad I did. The price was cheaper and the quality of backpack was better made. It holds binder, school books and even a Chromebook with room to spare. I highly recommend this item.
