This was unfortunately not a real Jansport. Two different materials mixed together and the cords on the zippers are mismatched. All in all cheap looking and not even a convincing knock off. Side by side with my real Jansport you can totally tell the difference. What a let down!

It was a gift for my sister. It's a classic backpack in a nice soft pink color. It was a little "crispy" in the beginning, but after it has been used for some time, the material seems to have softened. Dirt will show, so avoid this color if that bothers you. The bag feels sturdy and well made, and has held up well through semi-regular use over the last year and half. My college-age son loves this bag so much that I ordered a second one. You just never know what's going to happen when you're talking about a teenager. He uses this going to classes, but also for everything else in his life. The beach, over-nighters, basketball...whatever. It's sturdy. It's not overly large. Bought this for my new kindergartner. It is a bit big for her but after tightening the straps she says she feels very comfortable. The material is not the super sturdy material I remember from my school days, but it does feel like it will last a long time. Also, the backpack does not hold its shape when empty. I am not sure this would work for a student that has to haul a lot of things since it is not very sturdy. However, for younger kids or kids that don’t carry a lot of stuff, it is great. Bought this for my daughter who is in high school. It's just very cheap fabric that seems like it will not be able to withstand any wear and tear that it would be put through by a busy high school student. We compared it to her Handout backpack from last school year (which is still in immaculate condition after all that she did last year) and the quality of this one is not even close. Not the quality that we've come to expect t from Jansport, not to mention the wait for the bag and being charged a return fee. I will be returning this one. ... show more

I used Jansport backpacks throughout school. So, when it was time to buy a backpack for my 5 year old for Kindergarten, I specifically looked for the Jansport brand to purchase. This backpack is a huge disappointment. The first thing is, that it doesn't actually sparkle. My daughter was disappointed in that. But, honestly, I think it is still a really cute pattern. She used this backpack to carry a lunch box to camp. That is all. No heavy books, no excessive wear and tear. The zipper broke after the first month we owned it. I got this backpack for my 8-yr-old son. It is lightweight and comfortable, and a good size for him. He liked the color- denim blue. It appears to be good quality and I went with Jansport for their excellent reputation. It has a main compartment, without any other pockets or divided compartments inside, but the outside pocket is sufficient for what my son needs at this time. There is only one feature I wish it had and that is water bottle holder pockets on the outside sides of the backpack. This is a nice backpack and a good value for the price. ... show more

This happened during a school day, a thread must have caught and the small pocket shredded. School just started mid-September and I always buy bags with warranties and what I presume to be durable. My kids previous bags were LL Bean but they ended their warranty so I looked around. The worst that ever happened with LL Bean was a tiny tear and my son has 1 backpack that is at least 6 years old from there. Jansport can't hold a candle. Conveniently you can only return up to 1 month after purchase so beware. I will be on hold with the warranty department again today and hopefully they make this right. ... show more
