I got these to hang under a covered patio area, about 9x17. I was able to zig-zag them 4 times with some left over. They have pleasing light patterns and the remote is good, I can turn them off from inside the house. You can set them all white, or colored, and many other options (including timed). I've only had them a few weeks, but they appear to be sturdy enough. The brightness is moderate. For holiday cheer, it's good, but if I wanted "party level" night lighting, I would want a bit more. ... show more

After reading the reviews. I purchased this string of lights for my screened-in deck after trying a couple other brands. I love these. They include a timer so I could hang them and not have to turn them off and on durong each day of use. I especially love the lighting on the wire...so unique! They are also easy to dim or brighten with the remote. I also love that we can switch between multi-color options & all white for the holidays. My only wish is that they could switch between all white with solid blue, solid red, solid green or solid orange which would cover all holidays! In any case, I was so satisfied with the quality of these lights that I ordered a 2nd set for the patio. ... show more

I was so excited to get these lights for my classroom as I have other color-changing LED lights already. The colors pictured are what I thought I was getting. WRONG! You get red, blue, yellow, and green. That’s it. No color changing, no color fading. The are very nice and seem to be well made, and I love that the strand lights up as well, I’m just disappointed that the photo is false advertisement. These lights were a great value- it's a trend with restaurants and outdoor venues, and I was hoping to have the same look on my deck for a decent price. These have weathered a few windy and rainy storms and hot sun for about 3 months... Still looks brand new, beautiful glass light bulbs. 3 extra bulbs included, standard type A socket, each light section has a strong loop to hook the lights to a steel cable, which I also recommend for installation. The lights illuminate my whole deck and much of my yard- perfect for entertaining at night. ***UPDATE 6/9/19: Nearly a year later, these still look brand new. Kept them out through ice, snow, rain, wind, hail, frigid temps and unbearable heat. Still have not had to change any bulbs, and the wire still looks black, not faded at all in full sun. Use these at least 5 nights per week, or 2 nights a week in cooler weather. Excellent value, still. ***UPDATE 3/15/22: These lights are still going strong... they've been outside through all seasons for almost 4 years straight. I have only needed to replace 3 bulbs total (which are included in the kit... have not yet purchased any extra bulbs), and I use this frequently, even a couple times a week throughout the NJ winter. ... show more

The charching light comes on when I plug it in, but the lights won't turn on. I only really used it once. Never even got to see how ling the solar panel would charge it for.
