Description

Looking for an affordable bass that's packed with features both cosmetic and functional? The Music Zoo has you covered with this Jackson JS Series Spectra Bass JS3Q. The brand-new offset body style was designed with the artist in mind. The poplar body with quilt maple top features a large upper horn that evenly distributes weight throughout the instrument, providing perfect balance by reducing neck dive for hours of comfortable playing. A graphite-reinforced bolt-on maple neck with scarf joint design generates formidable sustain, while the speed neck contour and 12"-16" compound radius laurel fingerboard with 24 frets make for lightning-fast playability. The Spectra Bass JS3Q provides a sound that is as unique as the bassist playing it. Whether it be funk, hard rock or gospel, dual passive Jackson medium-output humbucking pickups create a monstrous low-end growl, while a HiMassâ„ bridge provides rock-solid stability, improved sustain and bolder tone. Tone can be further refined and tweaked with a two-way toggle switch for pickup coil splitting, 3-band EQ (active only), blend control and volume control (with push/pull selector to bypass or engage the active circuit for the 3-band EQ). With the push/pull selector, youâ€ll never have to fear a battery running out and losing sound. A quick pull on the volume knob will bypass the active circuit, making it easy to regain sound from the bass without the use of battery power. Offering more boom for your buck, the 4-string, 34"-scale Spectra Bass JS3Q comes in an all- new vibrant Amber Blue Burst finish with black nickel hardware and a unique Jackson 2x2 headstock with an understated J logo.

  • Excellent value, great for anyone from beginner to pro
I figured this bass would be a good starting point, but it's much better than some higher quality (and far more expensive) guitars I have. I'm a guitar player, but I've wanted to get into bass for a while now, and I can honestly say I have no complaints. This jackson has great tonal diversity, especially with the coil split and the active pickups; you can get any sound from funk to death metal, and anywhere inbetween. The pickups are a little muddy, which is to say it doesn't have quite the "openess" of something like a jazz bass, but it sounds more than good enough for any practice setting. The higher frets (from about 15 on) do sound a little muted compared to a fender bass as well (again cause of the pickups), but most people won't play that high often anyways. The workmanship isn't perfect either, but it's fantastic for the price. For me there were some long scratches on the binding of the fretboard, and a couple of the knobs were a little low. That's part of the gamble you take buying online though, and I'm thrilled with this bass. It looks sweet, holds tune great, and plays like a dream. If you want to get into bass, or you're a pro looking for a good practice or "throw-around" bass, I'd highly recommend the js3q. ... show more

  • Good value
I got this as a practice bass for a weekend home. I did get a Prime day deal and for what I paid Im pleased with this. The color I got was pretty true to the ad. The neck is very comfortable, the tuners are solid, the weight is good and no neck dive. There is a “dead spot” about the 6th fret on the neck which I hope can be remedied with setup, and I will probably change strings Overall, this is not as good as my American Fender, but for value and for beginner bass players this is a good choice ... show more

  • Near perfect
Was my first bass purchase after 35 years guitar playing, so I really didn't know what I wanted. This is versatile enough to be a little of everything, very eye catching and big bang for the buck. Someday I'll be able to get a higher end bass, but for now this does everything I need

  • Hey Ya'll Prepare Yourself For The Rubberband MAAANNN!
After months of considering and waiting for the right price to come around I snagged this bass and it is an absolute BEAUTY!!! I'm just starting to learn how to play as I've never played guitar or bass or any musical instrument in my life and its long been a goal to learn guitar or bass. I am so glad I chose this Jackson bass! It is absolutely perfect! Already getting to work learning how to play Rubberband Man by The Spinners, Seven Nation Army by White Stripes, Another One Bites the Dust, and Billie Jean! ... show more

  • GEARTREE SUCKS! Defective bass made worse by inadequate and defective seller response.
Geartree acknowledges that the bass was defective, and was promptly returned. They claim that it was not packaged properly and damaged and withheld 20% of my cost. This is wrong. I packaged the item to the best of my ability. If I had not been sent an item that was defective to begin with, I wouldn’t have had to take the time to package it, drive it to the drop off and start over looking for a non defective bass. This is on the seller. They sold a defective item, then made it worse by trying to put it on me. Had this not happened, I would not be taking the time to post this, but instead would be playing a properly working bass. DO NOT DEAL WITH GEARTREE ... show more

  • Awesome sound and EASY action!!!
This thing is awesome. The neck is perfect thickness for ease of fret change. And the sound? OMG!!!! I love it! Combine this fine instrument with an Ampeg Bass Amp and you can not compare the brilliance in sound.

  • Not what was advertised
This is not the product that was advertised. The colors and pattern are no where near the image advertised. Super disappointed. I've been holding out for a decent bass and pulled the trigger for a special occasion. Unfortunately, my local shops don't carry Jackson products so I couldn't see it first. This sucks. Going right back out. ... show more
