Excellent Knife Set!

Wow, my husband and I absolutely love this knife set! We are both retired, both cook often, and was looking for a good knife set with good gripping handles, self-sharpening, and had good-sized steak knives. And boy, did we find it with this product! We have only had this set a week, but so far, we love it! (I will update my review, if anything changes.) We have been hand-washing them and then drying with a cloth and leaving them on our drying mat overnight to air dry thoroughly, before placing them back in the knife block. We purchased the 14-piece set and it fits very nicely on our counter, without taking up much room. I really wanted the 20-piece set so that we would have 8 steak knives, instead of just the 6. However, after reading the reviews of how big the block was on the larger set, and me not being able to find the dimensions of the block anywhere, I opted for the smaller 14-piece set. All the knives state they were made in India, and the shears and black wood block was made in China. This is truly a beautiful set. We have been delighted at how sharp these knives are and highly recommend this set! (Just a side note, the box states there is a “prep knife,” but on the wood block it states it as a “utility” knife.)

Love the Knife Set. I did take off a star because the bread knife needed some work due to a defect in one of the teeth, and it was wrapped and protected, telling me it was shipped that way from the factory. For the price, it should not have a major defect on the cutting edge like that, especially since the bread knife does not utilize a built-in sharpener. Aside from that, the knives cut very well, stay sharp with the built-in sharpener, and have great weight and balance to them. Solid blades if you get a set without a defect.

I am very happy with this product and the management of this product. I had purchased this product. I took a chance. I don't make that much money. I am retired and I do home care for my 96 year old dad. However, I had purchased a knife black set that wasn't Henckels. My sister sent me a picture of hers and she had a Henckels. So I sacrificed and got this 14 piece set. It took them over a week to send it to me. It was not an Prime item. When I received it, the top silver part was not attached. I call Amazon they said the seller is a third party seller. I was a little upset to here this. However, Amazon contacted them on my behalf! Let me tell you that they were right on top of this issue. I have received the replacement already. I am so happy with their prompt response. So 5 stars. Customer Service is everything! I received it with this company! Thank you so much. ***** 😊

I purchased this because I find the Henckels brand to be outstanding and the biggest selling point for me was the self-sharpening feature. While there are a lot of other brands out there to choose from, I always prefer this brand and always find them to be superior. I wanted to upgrade my knives and had a really tough time deciding on whether to go with the 20 piece or the smaller set. I ultimately decided on the 20 piece since I do a lot of cutting when I start canning and a really good set of knives is a must. Decided not to go by price but by what I would need. I am so glad I did, they came the next day and I cut up chicken and beef to put in the freezer and it was a breeze. They are so sharp it has been like cutting meat with a butter knife! Will definitely have to be extra careful! The block is huge compared to my old set and I had to move things around on the counter to accommodate it. The knives and the block have a sleek appearance and the knives are easy to hold and cut with. Would definitely recommend purchasing! I did warn my husband that he is NOT allowed to use the new knives for anything other than food related preparation! Contrary to his belief, they are NOT tools! lol

I researched and read the reviews. For the price, these Henkel’s suited my needs. I would have LOVED Wustoff’s, but I am not a professional. This set is lightweight and they fit nicely in my hand. Very sharp! I wanted the self sharpening block because each knife is sharpened the way it should be sharpened, in its slot. The slots are labeled. I read the reviews on rusting. If you are going to toss your knives in the dishwasher, and not dry them after washing, you may see rust. Why be lazy? Dry them after washing. I almost gave four stars because of the large footprint of knife block. However, I READ the reviews. I knew that going in. I did what other users did, my husband cut almost 6 inches off the block. He repositioned the 2 rubber feet (easy to do) and I re-stained the back. I prefer it shorter. I am quite happy with my purchase. I have been using them for a few weeks. If I encounter any issues, I will edit. Edited: August, 2022 and the knives remain very sharp. I am beyond pleased!
