  • Great value. Beautiful flame top.
Beautiful flame top. Fretboard is quite red. I guess it’s cocobolo? It looks great. Neck is roasted but not as dark as the pics. Finish is not perfect but excellent overall. Frets are good. Setup is decent. Slanted heel on the bolt on neck is pretty solid but I’m afraid to take it apart. Hopefully won’t need to. Sound is good with pokey Alnico pickups. Coil split sounds good. Two-point trem feels pretty nice. Lots of value here. ... show more

  • Beautiful well-crafted guitar
This is an absolutely beautiful guitar. It's well-crafted and has features usually only available on much more expensive instruments. It looks better than in any of the photos. They don't do it justice. It's light and feels great to hold and play. This is a keeper. The remainder of this review isn't about the guitar, but about my ongoing negative experience with it's delivery and return: While the guitar I purchased was used, it was marked as in "Like New" condition. Unfortunately, it was anything but. In addition, as others have mentioned, to say the packing isn't sufficient is a gross understatement. The guitar I received featured multiple cracks in the finish, in addition to several dents and a scratch. I don't think the body damage was from shipping (again, surprisingly - although I may be wrong), but from a prior buyer secondary to mistreatment and, for example, overtightening the knobs. There was also an electrical issue with one of the controls (most likely a loose connection that needed to be resoldered) and the bridge pickup was loose (I'm not sure why, but wasn't going to troubleshoot if returning). Since I was sadly unable to replace the instrument, I would have been more than willing to keep the guitar, but there was no way I was going to do so without a (nice) discount - Even that would leave me at a loss considering the work involved to repair the guitar. Unfortunately, I was unable to get anyone at Amazon to help. As such, I reluctantly sent the guitar back*. I still think about it. It's that nice. * Having to spend over four hours, two days, two trips, your own resources (to pack the guitar, as the thin cardboard case it was sent in was barely held together by tape, riddled with large holes and literally fell apart.. and UPS charges in the mid-$40s [!!!] for a cheap thin cardboard guitar box), and multiple phone calls (during one of them, after 10 minutes, Amazon customer service asked me to hold for a moment and never returned - I had to start over with a new rep) while attempting to return an item that was sent to you damaged isn't kosher - in the very least. It's pretty awful. The icing on the cake is that the case still isn't closed, because the tracking is messed up on Amazon's end. I still haven't received a refund. The status page shows that the item hasn't been returned (although as per a long phone call, on their end, it was received some time ago). ... show more

  • For 150$ a great guitar.
Arrived undamaged. The finish looks nice. Hardware is about what you might expect for the price. Functional but not top shelf. Fret work is good. Neck is straight. Pickups are solid but I will likely change the bridge pickup for preference. They need rubber compression boots behind the pickups to raise them closer to the strings. After string change and a proper setup I'll have zero issues with this guitar. Fyi it was a better instrument than the similar priced Harley Bentley I recently purchased. ... show more

  • Wow! The Good, the bad, the ugly!
Well, after watching some youtube vids on how amazing this guitar was for the $$ I ordered it up when I saw that it was back for sale. Had high hopes but it all went south during the unboxing and initial over view. So here goes what I found and what I did. 1st off the packaging was less than to be desired. Item was fine(overall) but not because of the packing. Not much in the way of reinforcement or even bubble wrap. But on I went. 1st thing I noticed was the action. Super super bad. The trem looked like it was sitting ok but the string height was terrible. almost unplayable(unless you are a slide player) The tuning keys were all loose. The screws on the headstock, the nut that goes into the tuner and the tuner screw to tighten it were all loose as heck! All the screws at the neck joint were loose and 1 was stripped out! Not good!!! The neck itself was so bowed it was unreal. No where near straight. The fretboard was so dry it was scratchy. The fret job is ok, no sharp ones but very very small and in need a good polishing. There was a "crack" in the finish by the tone control. Looks like they over tightened it. Both knobs were rubbing against the body. Upon further inspection the ground wire to the trem claw wasn't soldiered to it but didn't look like they even tried to attatch it...weird. So after all that I almost boxed it up and sent it back. But alas, I like to tinker and I'm pretty good with setup and the like. so i fixed everything. Took me quite a while. changed out the p'ups to some Dimarzios I had laying around. Adjusted the truss rod. Cleaned and polished and "finished" the neck. The trem unfortunately is unusable but I'll just use it as a hard tail. Which is fine. After all was said and done, the guitar is actually pretty darn good! Small "C" shape neck that is still kinda hard to play but shreds pretty good. I'm not one to complain but this was almost a return. Like I say I don't mind tinkering but for the $$ it should have been at the very least playable out of the box. The finish is very nice. Cheap electronics but work good. Overall I'll give it a 7-7.5 ish. but that is only how it ended up after I fixed it. Out of the box the way it came...a 1.5 at best! Good luck to anyone who buys this. Maybe I just a "lucky" and got an end of day Friday guitar shipped to me...:)) ... show more

  • Nice guitar at this price point.
I was impressed. Looks nice and very playable out of the box. A good set up and this thing could be a great back-up shredder

  • BUY IT...before they realize the price is too low!
Beautiful look and feel. Easy access all the down to the 24th fret. Is it perfect? No. Is it well made and sound good? Yes. Love that it has the coil tap switch. Great beginner/intermediate guitar.
