  • Great value. Beautiful flame top.
Beautiful flame top. Fretboard is quite red. I guess it’s cocobolo? It looks great. Neck is roasted but not as dark as the pics. Finish is not perfect but excellent overall. Frets are good. Setup is decent. Slanted heel on the bolt on neck is pretty solid but I’m afraid to take it apart. Hopefully won’t need to. Sound is good with pokey Alnico pickups. Coil split sounds good. Two-point trem feels pretty nice. Lots of value here. ... show more

  • Price, quality of guitar
Very awesome guitar! Nice thin neck, not as thin as an Ibanez wizard, but very nice profile. Almost the same as my Ibanez Jem junior. I picked this guitar up for an unbelievable price! $101.00!, with a coupon added. The original price was 165.00. Then they had a sale which brought it down to 146.00. With the coupon it brought it down to 101.00!!! I couldn't pass it up, and I'm glad I didn't. Watched some reviews on line about it and I just couldn't find a better price or profile of guitar. This my first IYV guitar. All I have to say is it far exceeded my expectations on budget guitar manufacturers especially IYV. ... show more

  • Great sounding Guitar
Guitar is very nice. The neck pickup’s sound warm and beautiful. The neck itself is nice and thin how I like it. More in line like a Shecter or Strat. It also has satin finish on the neck. Has a coil splitter and two humbuckers which do not have any markings on them like some other IYV’s. Only complaint I have is there are a few tiny dark specks under the clear coat finish on the body top which are visible. Not such a big deal. Plays great so far need to replace strings and tweak the pick ups and bridge. Very Nice. Great value. ... show more

  • What a great guitar!!!
Can't say enough about how much I'm pleased with this guitar. Price was $143 plus a $40 coupon total of only $103 total. Fit and finish 10/10. Roasted maple 24 fret net was completely level, frets were spot on. 2 point bridge has a very nice thick block. Pickup output: Bridge=14/7.6 coil split. Neck=7.6/4.0 coil split. As with any new guitar I set the string action to my preference. Will put on a set of my favorite strings, oil the fingerboard and call it done. ... show more

  • Kinda rough around the edges.
Overall, decent for the money, but mine had a lot of problems, some of which I didn't discover until I got too deep into things to be able to return it... -Minor crack in the fretboard which I filled with thin super glue to successfully stabilize it. -I couldn't get the action low enough without the saddles bottoming out, so I had to shim the neck. -Could not get relief in the neck even with full string tension, and if I force it with the tension rod, it bows in a wonky spot (closer to the nut) so that fretting toward the bridge still causes buzzing. -I could not get it to intonate on the highest E string without the saddle hitting the bridge post. I had to remove the bridge post studs, nuts, plug the holes, and re-drill closer toward the pickups. I also had to enlargen the trem block cavity with files for the block's new position. This also meant new shielding tape (previously paint). -The nut required minor adjustment but that's typical with most new guitars. -I'm giving this 3 instead of 1 star because even after all that work, it actually sounds pretty sweet. ... show more

  • Good value and a nice looking guitar.
I received this couldn't believe the fit and finish is very nice. Action and the intonation very good. Nut cut nice. For the money you can't beat it. It got a lot of cool tones. A little ice picky at louder volumes but I don't play very loud so that's no problem. Strings or the frets had no corrosion on them. Plays very good right out of the box. I get them while you can. ... show more

  • Good after some work
Bought 1 years ago. On sale bought another. Both look great and very comfortable with contoured body and neck pockets. Tuners terrible on both. Replaced. Lubed nut. Oiled dry fretboard. This one had seriously sharp frets. Usually can sand block, this I had to File ends and super polish. Truss rod a little funky. Not stripped yet but feels off. This one had roasted looking neck, first one didn't. Pickups good. Need to rewire to get most out of them. Two point Bridge has full block and stays in tune without Any crazy dive bombing. Stripped finish off 1st one and tung oiled it. Brought out beautiful solid top cap. Worth buying if you don't mind putting work in. You'll end up with a great looking, sounding and comfortable guitar. Not for beginners ... show more

  • For 150$ a great guitar.
Arrived undamaged. The finish looks nice. Hardware is about what you might expect for the price. Functional but not top shelf. Fret work is good. Neck is straight. Pickups are solid but I will likely change the bridge pickup for preference. They need rubber compression boots behind the pickups to raise them closer to the strings. After string change and a proper setup I'll have zero issues with this guitar. Fyi it was a better instrument than the similar priced Harley Bentley I recently purchased. ... show more
