  • Works well
Model: IX-MI-MIX01 White
I found the instructions a little vague but this thing works perfectly once you figure it out. Very easy to use for streaming or for music. The buttons are responsive as are the switches. I found that it felt very flimsy and cheap but that also came with the upside of being incredibly light and portable. It's a little higher than I'd recommend it for, but on sale it's well worth the price. ... show more

  • So small and light for such a great mixer
Model: IX-MI-MIX01 Black
I got this little mixer to use with my desktop and condenser mic to of course be able to post videos to the web. I am familiar with mixers already and I have an older Heath & Allen big studio mixer. So when I saw this one I was really curious to know how it would compare in sound quality and functionality. When I went to set this up on my desktop, the way I set it up would not yield any sound. So it took me about 20 minutes of switching around wires before I finally got it. That's kind of a long time for a simple little mixer but mostly it's because you have to put headphones in to hear it, it's not going to play out of my speakers. So once I realized that then the next thing was I had to understand that headphones need to be plugged in to the mixer and my mic headphones jack and my computer headphones jack also will not work when this is plugged in to the desktop. So once understood next was to play with the audio sound. Now unfortunately I was forced to hear it through basic earbuds so it's not going to sound great through basic ear buds but even so it sounded ok. A little "tinny" but that is actually from my mic and is exacerbated through the earbuds. Regardless it's perfect for podcasting because my voice comes through very clear and loud. Playing around with the voice modulator was fun I enjoyed listening to what the different modulation options sound like. These are also functional for podcasts where changing up your voice for effect is prudent. It looks cool sitting on the desk because the light colors can be changed around and personalized and the buttons are large and have large print and are easy to read. But to me the best feature of this mixer is its size. It's easily 1/6 the size of my large studio mixer and perfectly sits on my desk. It also weighs "nothing". There is an "electric" series of settings that are really for instruments so this little mixer offers some cool surprises like that. But then it has "echo" which is more like reverb and it has 4 saveable presets that activate with the push of a button. And I do like the lights and colors on it. If you're on the fence about what technical things you need I would just get this mixer because it's really easy to set up and is not expensive. My studio mixer costs thousands as where this is $40 (somewhere around there) which makes this a screaming deal because it's quality. This did not glitch or seem delicate when I was playing with it and I'm definitely glad I got it. Oh and also my condenser mic is USB A/USB C and not the 3.5mm or XLR which the directions say to use but it does plug in to the USB C input on the Ixtech and works that way. So connectivity is very good because I think it will take anything except TRS. But the XLR input kind of looks like a TRS/XLR all in one (don't quote me on that though) and most importantly it does have 48v condenser mic pre-amp which can be turned off for dynamic mics or condenser mics with built in pre-amp. ... show more

  • Rough audio quality. Didn't work for my use-case.
Model: IX-MI-MIX01 Black
I was looking for a simple desktop mixer that works with my Arctis Nova headset. I wanted to be able to input music from my phone as a line-in and mix that with my mic/headset audio as a single output to the computer. This mixer was totally incapable of that. Additionally this thing introduces a terrible background buzz via the XLR mic input in the back, making it mostly unusable even as a straight through-input. The physical inputs on the exterior of it also don't make a ton of sense. It has 2 different mic inputs, and one slider for presumably both(?), a "headset" output and a "headphone" slider. Also, when I went to their website to see if I could download a manual to help make sense of what was going on, I found it to be totally non-functional. None of the links for support or device info actually went anywhere. This thing might work for you, but the quality is pretty rough even when it does work. And I imagine the situation you have to be in to have it work for you is pretty specific. It straight up didn't work for me and I'm just here with a pretty normal gaming headset and line in from my phone.. ... show more

  • Decent basic mixer, fun lighting, digital audio effects not great / mostly unnecessary Decent basic mixer, fun lighting, digital audio effects not great / mostly unnecessary
Model: IX-MI-MIX01 Black
I ordered this IXTECH mixer along with their "Gaming USB Mic" as I am interested in starting a YouTube channel. Here are my thoughts. - Functionality. This mixer does pack a lot of features into a small portable package. The ability to control mic volume, headphone (monitor) volume as well as Line In and Line out, along with several built-in digital effects is a nice set of features for such a small package. - XLR vs. USB vs. 1/8" (3.5mm) audio. The inputs on this mixer include an XLR input (for a mic or an instrument, with related switch,) and 1/8" inputs for headset (monitor,) microphone (if not using the XLR input, I assume,) and Line In and Line Out. The USB-C port is the dedicated default output to PC and powers the device. - Level sliders / one-touch mute. Volume sliders and mute buttons are provided for the built-in Echo effect, the mic, the headphones, as well as Line In and Line Out. - Buttons. Buttons are provided to control the electronic pitch control feature, the LED lighting modes, the digital voice changing effects, the monitor switch, and four custom sound recording clips. (Details on each of the effects buttons below.) - "Electric" This button controls a built-in pitch control, which appears to be a poor man's "auto-tune." The button toggles through 12 pitches (keys?) in the normal musical scale (A through E flat.) When applied, this effect attempts to modulate the pitch of the mic audio. I played with this a little, but if this is intended to be used with singing, I don't see how it could possibly work very well. In my limited testing, this ended up with some forcibly modulated audio that simply didn't sound good. I think this is mostly a gimmick, and not a very useful feature. (Probably the least useful digital effect on the device.) - LED lighting button. The lighting control buttons toggles through several lighting modes of the backlit buttons (slow gradual rainbow shifting across all the buttons, color changing but all buttons are sync'ed to the same color, setting all buttons to a single non-changing color, color chasing buttons, etc.) This is nice and adds a bit of flair appropriate for videos. The lighting can also be disabled entirely. - Custom A, B, C, and D Buttons. These buttons can be used to record individual short custom sounds for instant playback much like a sound sampler. I personally don't find these very useful, but for Twitch streamers and YouTubers this might provide an opportunity to add fun repeatable sound effects throughout your stream or recording. - Change Voice button. This button lets you apply a digital voice change effect in real time in one of six styles: Male, Female, Robot, Monster, Baby, and Elder. I played with these and they are mildly amusing but not very practical. The resulting affected audio is very clipped and in many cases, almost unintelligible (see "Monster" and "Robot"). Of these, I found the "Elder" voice the only one remotely useful as a real voice, but the "Baby" voice is also mildly amusing. Needless to say, no one will be fooled by these voices as they are in no way realistic, but they can be used to mask your own voice for comedic or theatrical effect. - Monitor button. This button simply toggles on and off the audio to the pass-through headphone monitor. (The headphone audio can also be muted using the related button under the headphone level slider. - Echo slider. This feature adds a bit of digital echo to your voice/input depending on the level of the slider. I like this feature but as ti is a digital effect, it can negatively affect the quality of your audio if set too high. While this is handy for quick and dirty recordings, I recommend keeping this effect very low if using it at all, and applying any desired affects in post production after recording if possible. (You can always add effects in post after recording, but it is much more difficult, if not impossible, to remove them after the fact!) - Quality. I tested this with an IXTECH IX-MIC02 mic using an XLR cable, and the quality was perfectly fine for voice audio. I did not test this with any musical instrument audio, but overall the ability to quickly mix levels for a few inputs is very handy, and might be useful for a very small mobile setup. Note: There is a mic setting switch on the back to toggle between 40db/50db/60db settings. There is also a switch for 48V condenser mics versus Dynamic XLR. I am happy with this small input mixer, but I can't say that the digital effects are particularly useful or very good in most cases. I will use this simply as a quick single-touch mixer and mute button for my mic and possibly a second line-in audio source. I do like the LED lighting and it looks nice, especially when paired with the matching IXTECH mic. ... show more

  • Small footprint with a clean look and lots of lights. Fun to use.
Model: IX-MI-MIX01 White
I had ordered this to use for Halloween and to have a little fun with on my gaming rig. It needed to be lightweight and also could be powered on a minimal setup. The footprint on a desk or enclosure needed to also be really small. This fits well and also looks clean, aside from the lights. Setup is simple with a clear layout. After everything is connected, it works fine. It has various input methods into the same small mixer, such as a 3.5mm audio source, condenser or dynamic mic through XLR, and front mic input and headphone output. There’s a switch to turn on/off the 48v to the XLR port and also an instrument/mic switch. I’m using it only for voice and music input in a non-professional setting. There are a few different settings for effects, but not much customization. This isn’t such a bad thing. I’ve tested it with a wireless mic and PA speaker for next season. It works great and some of the voice changer settings are good enough. There’s some kind of pitch or auto-tune setting that was interesting to use, too. I can’t wait to use it for next Halloween. For now, it is set up with my PC where I use it on occasion. It looks clean in white and is a bit flashy when powered on with all of the lights. I haven’t had any issues with it. However, I only use it on occasion, when time permits, and not daily. It’s an okay mixer on its own and a pretty good value for the price. I think it’d make a great gift for someone who likes gaming, likes the LED colored lights, and also likes to have fun in voice chat. It’s not anything too serious, but the price also reflects that. ... show more
