I bought this 3 pack. I liked that they were compact so we took all 3 with us to Italy. They worked fine for us and someone that was on a tour with us bought one from us. We were willing to just loan it to her so she could charge her device but she was going to be in Italy for a while and wanted her own. So we sold it to her as a convenience to save her the trouble of trying to find one while in the country. It is always better to get these things before you travel. Think about what it would be like in The United States. How easy is it to just pop in a convenience store to find an adapter from European cords to US outlets? Always get things like these in advance. And at this price, the 3 pack is nice so you can plug in multiple things and/or have a spare in the event you forget and leave one in a hotel or it breaks. ... show more

I'm here in Australia now and the plugs work fine. I decided to get 3 dedicated plugs instead of a universal plug because when the one I had broke I had nothing to charge my iphone with. Also my universal plug didn't always fit the diameter of the outlet itself (esp. on trains). 10$ for all 3 plugs-a good deal for our family. Also note I use an ANKER extension cord with 2 usb outlets that I had gotten for a cruise-gives me a long cord -needed if the outlets are sparse or in a bad location. The adaptors + the extension cord (2usb outlets and two 110 outlets) is all we need to power our laptop, 2 Kindles, and 2 Iphones. ... show more

I like these simple (and cheap) adapters over the multi-country international adapters. Many multi-country adapters with various prongs you can unfold are flimsy and do not hold well in the outlet. These work very well and provide two outlets. Well built, and I never had an issue with them. Like any international adapter, you have to treat them a bit with care. The US-style plug pins are easily exposed and often not made for 240V. But there is nothing the adapter can do about that. For the UK plug, the ground pin has to be inserted to activate the outlet, and outlets usually have a switch to turn it on/off. Plug everything in first, then turn on the outlet. ... show more

Generally, these travel plug adapters are dodgy at best. I’ve literally had other manufacturers’ adapters fall apart in my hand… while plugged in. But, these Ceptic adapters are sturdy. Being the so-called Type G UK plug, they are physically large. But nothing can be done about that; the Brits like their plugs huge. I only need two of these. Being an electrical engineer, I disassembled the third and was pleasantly impressed with what I found inside. It looks good enough for the job. As the listing is careful to say, this is only a plug converter, not a voltage or frequency converter. In the EU, outlets are going to have about 230Volts at 50Hz. American appliances generally use 120V at 60Hz. Some American appliances will work just fine and be perfectly safe at 230/V/50Hz. Others may literally burst into flames. So, double- — no, triple- — check that any appliance you use this adapter with can handle 230V/50Hz; this is very important. This is probably printed on the appliance (on the back or bottom typically) or in the instruction manual, or check on the manufacturer’s website or call the manufacturer’s customer support line. Some appliances will have a small switch you need to change when using 230V/50Hz power. But, whatever you do, don’t plug an American appliance in with one of these adapters without checking its rating for 230V/50Hz power. ... show more

The thing I like about this style adapter is that is meant specifically for US to UK plugs. The biggest problem I have with the multi-multi-multi universal adapters is that the plug for the american-side is always loose and most of the time makes poor contact.
