Broke first time worn

This is prettier than I expected. I love layered necklaces but they're always tangling up on me (with each other OR in my super-fine hair) or, when I buy them online, they're too short. This one doesn't tangle and it has nice length--the bottom pendant goes to the middle of my bust, so it looks really nice with v-neck shirts. There's just enough blue in it to offer a bit of color, but not so much that it competes with my outfit or draws too much attention to itself. The coins are actual metal--probably a nickel alloy of some kind because I have a nickel allergy and developed a bit of hives where the coins rested against my skin. I cut a piece of scotch tape to fit each and stuck them to the back-- you can't see it, but it protects my skin from the metal, so it worked great. This will not be confused with fine jewelry, but it's a nice casual costume piece that offers the layered look without the fuss of multiple necklaces. It's long enough, and it has a large lobster-style clasp with large hooks, so it's easy to put on even if you have mobility issues. I'm sure the clasp is a nickel alloy, but it seems to have a thick plating of some sort that means it hasn't yet irritated my skin (it may, when that plating wears off). I will enjoy it for now because it's really cute.

These have the California Prop 65 warning on them, which means there is some substance that has been deemed cancer causing by the state of California. However, in this case it's probably the brass these are made from, and unless you were going to wear them every day for a significant amount of time I doubt there would be any issue. I do wonder why they couldn't have just gone with a different material. Still a star off for having to warn at all. The necklace is really cute with such a fun flare to it. The colors are fun and bright, and the necklace is nice and long. It looks great with a plain top, or solid colored dress. The beads and gold look really nice, but I had to take a star off because the metal eye that the clasp hooks to had about a quarter to an eighth cover in rust. This necklace comes in a lovely red colored see through baggy with gold flowers, pull string & bow like top. It's very cute and likely done nicely enough for most gift giving. At the time of this review the retail price was fifteen bucks, which in my opinion is reasonably priced. Check your allergies, but if you're not allergic to brass, and you like the look of this, I'd recommend it.

I have extremely long hair and have not had any issues with my hair getting caught in this necklace, though it does have a chain portion with the extender in the back that could possibly be an occasional problem. It just has not happened to me. It has a lobster style clasp and with the extender it is plenty long enough to look nice on my big plus size self. The beads are small and pretty, and it is a nice summer jewelry piece. It reminds me of the beach and it looks nice with my swimwear. (I have navy blue with a floral pattern and black suits.) I also wore it with a long navy tunic out to eat and it looked nice with that. It looks good with navy in particular, to me. It isn't an expensive piece and I don't expect it to last forever, but it's made decent for inexpensive jewelry and it can really help dress up a very plain solid color outfit.
