These are not quite as "irwin sturdy" as the other irwin original c clamps but they work really good. I use them for fiberglass repairs, and also to hold fender replacements onto big rig hoods. These are more rectangular than the 11" irwin c clamps giving it more throat depth to reach further. Def recommend having at least one set if you use locking c clamps often ... show more

These are a great tool to have and these have pretty good build quality and clamp down well. My on complaint on this set is that the bar in between the handle and the grip that slides is able to escape its pocket when on loose settings so needs put back into position. This is a common issue with Vise Grips so it is what it is, but I would have liked if they would have contained that piece better. ... show more

    • Sloppy adjusting screws lose setting when clamp springs open
These are not your father's made-in-Dewitt-Nebraska Vise-Grip clamps. The adjusting screws are extremely sloppy, and unless you are very careful they lose their setting when un-clamped. I bought four of these for work on a new roof holding redwood support blocks under the plywood deck at the rake while they were screwed down. I bought these because my old (purchased in the 90's) 6" swivel pad Vise-Grip C Clamps would not quite reach the locations of the blocks. Every time I un-clamped these clamps and moved them the pressure changed. This turned what should have been a two-handed job (working from an extension ladder) into a three-handed job. The setting screws on the old clamps have a firm enough fit that they can easily be adjusted but they don't rattle around in the threads. The price is very reasonable on these, but there's no excuse for such a sloppy fit. ... show more
