I work by myself in my shop and these clamps do what I hoped for and bought them for. They are that so needed extra set of hands to hold shelving, brackets, etc. at a deep level. They also allow adjustment of the clamped wood to get that perfect level and location. I was concerned that I had just bought an expensive tool that would rarely be needed. Far from the case. Cons: Can clamp my finger skin if not careful. Pros: The tension of the clamps are adjustable and helps with getting just the right tension and keeping your skin out of the clamp. ... show more

These seem to be well-made, and I like the non-mar plastic pads that come with them. But the listing says "Dimensions 13.8 x 7.4 x 1.46 inches", so I figured the model number 9SP meant they had about a 9" reach or throat depth. No, each clamp is about 9" in overall length, so the reach is about 5". The "Dimensions" apparently refers to the blister-pack that the two clamps come in! The adjustment screws on mine do not seem to be too loose, as some other reviewers have complained. ... show more

You may be thinking, as I did that these clamps are like those you may have seen on a normal, 9 inch vice grip body. Au contraire, the vice grip body is a 6 inch and the clamps aren’t really heavy duty enough to be much good on a welding bench. I gave them two stars instead of one because they might be good for something and I should’ve been more careful in my ordering. ... show more
