I ordered 3 of these for my living room. I don't know how well these would do holding up actual books, but I'm happy with them for what I got them for. I had major issues with the big bottom drawers of 2 of the units, so I just left them out, and am still not disappointed. The big drawers went together fine, but one, once in place on the tracks, was stuck shut so I had to take the unit apart to get it out. The other just didn't want to sit on the tracks right at all. They still look great to me without the drawers on the bottom. The smaller top drawers went in just fine. Now if I can just get the cat to stop trying to play with the fairy lights, all will be hunky dory! ... show more

I ordered 2 of these and put them side by side. They look good and are sturdy. The drawers are good, but the slides are inexpensive. Pictures on Amazon match well to final product. I do like that it has some storage in the drawers. Assembly was a bit more of a chore than I expected. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, but there were a lot steps. You definitely want to use a drill or electric screwdriver or you will wear out your wrist. Some of the shelf screws are hex wrench to tighten, so I used a hex bit in my drill for those, too. There are adjustable feet on the bottom corners. My floor was unlevel and it took a bit of adjustment to get the two bookshelves aligned so one didn’t lean away from the other or lean different front to back. If you only buy one, that shouldn’t be much of a worry. ... show more

Easy to assemble for the most part and great for holding all my stuff. Holds a lot and the shelves are easy to adjust. Only problem is that it takes two people to add the shelves and if you don’t put the screws that hold the drawers in completely flat the drawers won’t slide in. These bookshelves are timeless! Easy to assemble and you can modify the shelves to your liking to accommodate your needs! Love these and the drawers were definitely needed for filing! Looks 11000 times better than a traditional file cabinet!

This was easy to assemble, even being 70 years old and 100 pounds. The pieces were well marked and everything was pre-drilled, so it was it would be difficult to make a mistake putting it together. Very sturdy and well made at a terrific price. My one criticism is that the color of the bookcase isn't even close to the photos shown. I was looking for a blend of lighter wood with the dark, helping me mesh this bookcase and desk to fit my decor. Had it not been for the color issue, I would have given it five stars. What I got is a very dark brown wood with black streaks. It's nice, but not what is shown on in the photos, so not what I was expecting. Took me an hour or so to build. Instructions were clear and were well displayed. All hardware was neatly packaged and labeled.
