We bought this to display our ever-growing fragrance collection. We wanted something tiered but not too bulky feeling. We also wanted to be able to add lights to the shelves. A glass cabinet would probably be best for lights but piling expensive glass bottles onto glass shelves when we have cats just seemed like a bad idea. The slightly skewed design of these shelves is perfect for our ~100 full size bottles. We probably could technically use a 2nd unit to keep our bottles spread out more and a little easier to grab but for now we have been enjoying seeing all of our fragrances easily. The shelves are sturdy feeling and were relatively easy to put together. It does feel a little tippy so we double anchored it to the wall. We are in earthquake territory so I might add another anchor or two but for now it seems sturdy. One of our cats even jumped on a shelf and it didn't wobble at all. This bookshelf is sturdy. It took about 90 minutes to assemble. The doors at the bottom work well. The shelves are large enough to hold oversized books. A second person would be useful during assembly, but I was able to do it by myself.

Not difficult to put together however the doors don’t sit quite right but only really noticeable if you’re looking for it. Also, one of the shelves was the wrong size but again, only really noticeable when you’re looking for it. Overall, good quality and it looks great in our room. For a new guest bedroom, I purchased 6 different pieces of Ironck furniture, 4 different designs (desk, plus 3 types of shelving). Of the pieces, this one was my favorite. It was not the easiest to assemble, but it wasn't too hard (I could do it by myself, no extra pair of hands needed, no powertools needed), and I really like the result: it is the sturdiest of the pieces, and has a lot of shelf capacity plus the cabinet below. ASSEMBLY TIP: before you build the shelves, finish the work on the door pieces (put on the magnets, screw in the handles, stick in the hinges), and then when you are done with the shelf unit you'll be instantly ready to pop the doors in and finish tightening up all the screws. I bought two of these, and if I knew before what I know now, I would have done all the shelving with this model; I really like it the best. Highly recommended. ... show more

I have purchased several items similar to this, and was not disappointed in this one either. It’s not what I consider to be expensive furniture, but is very functional and attractive if you’re not into chunky expensive furniture and appreciate lightweight modern. I found it very simple to assemble, but I have a lot of experience assembling these things. You do have to pay particular attention to the directionality of the main supports on either side to make sure you’re assembling it correctly. ... show more
