Had to return this because it was damaged in shipping so that I couldn't put it together. Was very disappointed that the company couldn't send me the two parts that were damaged and I've had to go through the return and re-order process instead, but at least the return has been easy and it's even saved me a little since when I reordered, the unit was on sale. One other good thing about the return - This unit is heavy and Amazon made it an option for UPS to pick up the package from my house so I wouldn't have to figure out how to get the thing into my car and then to the UPS store. Being a single woman, that would have been a big challenge. Have ordered another shelving unit with hopes that it will be fine. One more note about this - I've ordered two other shelving units from this company and I like them very much. Nice design, sturdy, easy to put together, lots of room on the shelf for books and other items. Am really looking forward to getting the replacement one. ... show more

I was skeptical of the sturdiness of this before I purchased it. I wanted a shelf system like this for my vinyl records and stereo equipment. Well, it is plenty sturdy. I have approximately 400 albums as well as a monstrous vintage receiver and 2 turntable of this shelf system and it is solid. I found it to be easy to assemble. It took me probably 30 minutes to complete it while watching TV. To be fair. I was a carpenter for years and I am very mechanically inclined. The over all set together is not light so be prepared. The assembly works out better with 2 people and the directions could use a extra step or 2. I found 3 of the shelf were damaged in transit which I just put them on the bottom and damaged spot out of site. Minor damage. One shelf cracked when I tightened it down but it was in the back side so it could be hidden and I know the shelf so I just won't put anything heavy on it. Lots of space between the shelf. The media could not be loaded. I received this item almost 1 month ago, but only put it together in the past 2 days. First, THE PROS: VERY STURDY Love the shelves and style Extra of EVERYTHING Packed extremely well! Good directions! CONS: Box is super heavy and this unfortunately was going to a 3rd floor - YIKES! So, I did it in 3 trips. And the truck that delivered just dumped it at the top of the driveway. Am I happy? YES!! I buy a TON off Amazon. This is one of my top 5 happy products. With the # of holes, screws and shelves that have to be lined up and have it leveled at the end. I didn’t have to do a thing!!! Very well made!! Was worth the trips up and down lol!! It was a little difficult to assemble just because of what it is, but we love it. It looks so good, and it is a great price for the structural integrity of the shelf. We are using it for plants because the shelves are rated for 68 lb. or something to that extent. Anyways I would recommend.
