    • Pretty and easy storage, indoors and out!
This is heavy, and I used a luggage cart to take it to my apartment from the front desk. Easy to get out of box if you just open one narrow end, pull out part of the unit then pick up other end of box and dump and the rest will slide out. Untie one shelf at a time to assemble - if you untie them all at once, they can all fall into place all at once and hit you on the head!! I'm using it in walk in storage closet ---I actually have 2 in there, and one will go out on my balcony for plants in May. I had two in my home but sold the home and gave the units away. Missed them so much but had to wait till I could see how much room I would have in my new apt. You can spray the units with Rustoleum if you want a different color. Thank you Caravan! ... show more

    • Love that it was preassembled
I hadn't fully realized that the rack ships fully assembled so it takes more time to remove the plastic wrapping than it does to erect it. I was thrilled!! One bone I have to pick with the item description, however, is the use of the word "iron" to describe this rack. I think that iron is used because it conjures up thoughts of "wrought iron" which people imagine is durable. With some humor I noted that in one place in the description it is labeled as "premium outdoor iron" as if such a commodity actually exists. The bottom line is that this rack isn't made of wrought iron but it appears to be constructed of a reasonably heavy gauge of tubular steel. It's powder coated so it won't rust easily and it's brown anyway, so you won't notice the rust (as much). As for it being "outdoor iron", all I can say is that steel and iron are related materials and the only truly outdoor "iron" is stainless steel which doesn't rust. All other steel and iron will rust eventually. ... show more

    • Perfect outdoor baker's rack
After relocating to a house that has a pool and accompanying patio, it became apparent that we would need a shelving unit of some kind that would be functional and appealing to the eye. This unit fit the description for what we needed. It's not too tall or short, or too big or small. Just the right size to set under a covered patio to house things like beach towels, tiki pots (and fuel), and other patio essentials. I keep these items in baskets, making them easily accessible but out of the way. The unit also has rubber inserts (feet). If you are looking for a mid-sized, outdoor unit that is functional and simple yet pretty, this is one to strongly consider. We are very happy with our purchase. (It arrived super quickly, to boot.) P.S. We've had the unit for under a month. Thus, it'll be interesting to see how the unity holds up over time in an outdoor environment, namely do to rust. ... show more

    • Quality control an issue, vendor is great
After three attempts I finally received an acceptable piece. While the quality is good for a wrought iron piece, the quality control leaves something to be desired. However the vendor, Bison Office, is exceptional. Very prompt and extremely helpful.

    • Easy to step up and to fold and store if ...
Easy to step up and to fold and store if you wish. Ours is up year round on our balcony. Attractive, sturdy and comes in very handy for flowers and to set things aside when dining outside. Update a year later: The uncovered rack survived all four seasons on the balcony with no rusting. This week, however, as I was readying the balcony for the season, I discovered that the rack provides a perfect home for wasps! I watched them enter the frame through nail head size holes that I hadn't even noticed before. The uniformly circular holes are on the frame and on the shelves. They are the perfect size for a little wasp body. The wasps enter the hole and then go into the hollow frames of the rack and shelves. I don't know if they wintered over in the rack, but they are now our constant companions on the balcony. A word to the wise: plug up or cover the holes with tape before setting up your rack outside! ... show more

    • Not made well
I found the welds to be very poor. The hardware and assembly of the product was poorly done. All in all it's very cheaply made. There is no provision for leveling on an uneven surface so the rack doesn't wobble. The color was as pictured and the finish is okay. It will work for our purpose on the patio. I definitely would have returned it if it were going in the house. I'm rather disappointed and wish that I'd spent more for a better made baker's rack. ... show more
