I needed new boots after the last winter and thought I would tries these out since they boast being waterproof, and living in the PNW, that is a necessity. These shoes are really amazing and clearly water tight. So why the lower review? I know that shoes have to be broken in but the leather needs some time to be broken in. It takes awhile for it to form to your foot which I get but breaking shoes in is the worst! My favorite part about these shoes is they look pretty classy, I can wear them and not worry about it dressing down my outfit. A great sturdy, beautiful find overall.

When my wife first received these, she was a bit concerned that they were too loose in the ankle area, so I had to show her how to tighten the laces from the bottom up (she's not used to having boots such as these), once that was done, she fell in love very quickly. If you are not familiar with wearing boots, that is one of the first things I want you to know with these. In order to wear them properly, start by pulling the laces as tight as you can from the bottom lace and work your way up. That will greatly improve their comfort on your feet. Otherwise, the craftsmanship of these shoes is absolutely a masterpiece. I'm serious, this is far better than any shoes you'll find at payless or walmart or anything, these are the real deal. My wife traditionally wears sneakers just about everywhere, but she keeps pointing out how she loves having something other than purple Hokas to wear when she wants to go somewhere and not look like she just rolled out of bed or got back from the gym. She claims that walking in them is effortless and she is comfortable chasing kids around in them while at the zoo or just taking them outside on walks without getting blisters or her feet growing tired. Overall, she loves these shoes and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic pair of boots.

I have such mixed feelings about these boots. They are the most comfortable sole I've ever walked on but the foot bed is so extremely narrow that my feet feel squished the entire time. I tried to loosen the laces, but because the tongue is connected to the sides until it turns up the side, it only helped a little. I really wanted to love these but I just couldn't. And I have normal sized feet, I don't ever need to buy wide width shoes, except in these.
