Everything Red Wing, Irish Setter, and the reveiwers, says about these boots is true. It's as if my feet are still at home in my fleece slippers. The comfort is unbelievable. Minimal break in. 13W fits perfect. No heel slip. No crunched toes. No squeezed width. Ohh, so comfortable. All the money I've wasted trying to get boots that fit and don't hurt. Well worth the money. These will last the rest of my life. Ill be 65 in 3 days. I bought these, 10" uninsulateded and 12" 1000g insulated. I wore the 1000g insulated in 75 degree room and walked 15 minutes. Feet were warm but not hot. Just right. Went outside in minus 10 degree for an hour. My feet stayed the same warmth. That is impresive. Never had such a worthwhile self given birthday present. ... show more

I wear a 11.5 in Red Wing Iron Rangers and have room for average weight wool socks. If I was buying tennis shoes I'd be a 12 on average. My hiking shoes are roomier at 13. Irish Setter online foot sizing guide could not call out the right sizing. It said I should order a 12. Amazon said I should order 13 based on thousands of orders ... AND THEY WERE RIGHT. Amazon was more accurate than Irish Setter. The 12 was tight and felt like an 11. Pain to have to chase down the sizing like this. I ordered a 13D (regular) and they are perfect for hiking. Best boots I’ve ever owned, tread wears out quick on concrete but they are comfortable and ready to walk for miles after 30 minutes of wearing them. I’m definitely going to order the insulated pair for winter and wear the non insulated in summer

This is my 3rd pair. Last two pair each lasted 6 years before they leather started to fail. Only lace up boots I will buy. Worth every dime. The first pair I had were the older style that had the goretex branded lining, only stayed waterproof for the first three years. The last pair only stopped being waterproof in the last few months. I wear them to work, hiking, hunting, and they get a lot of miles on them. After the insoles break down I put Georgia Amp insoles in them and keep on wearing the boots. I highly suggest them. I will say watch yourself on ice or wet tile when they are brand new, but once you’ve worn them for a week they are fine. You can also sipe the lugs to help on ice. ... show more

    • I like the Elk Tracker Boots. But these non insulated pair are horrible.
I own the Elk tracker 600 G thinsulate winter version of these boots and they are exellent. I purchased these for summer/fall knowing that the 600g ones fit and feal great i figured i couldnt go wrong with the non insulated version. Well i was horribly wrong these boots are designed slightly different thean the insulated versions they sell. their is a seam where the ;eather meets and is stiched together this seem is right where the inside of your ancle is right agasit the ball bone on the inside of your ancle. the seem is bunched together creating a spot inside the boot that rubbs against the inside of your ankle right under the ball bone it literally kills to where these boots even for just a hour or 2 of walking around will rub your ankle so bad that it feels like a nail is rubbing on your ankle it is not a defect but a design flaw. both left and right boots are like this. also other reviews have mentioned this problem however i discounted it because of my success with the 600g version but yes he was right these insulated boots are not even wear able with it rubbing your ankles like this these boots are literally torture to wear you couldn't pay me to wear these. if you are a heavier set person that has a lot of fat around their ankles you may not have the issue as much. ... show more
