[iPower 600w HPS MH Dimmable Cool Tube] So far everything in this kit seems to be working as expected. The ballast consumes a very small mount over what it should implying that it is giving a true wattage. The bulbs seem to be working fine. I have not used the timer. The ballast does not get very hot, but does make a bit of fan noise due to the small size of the included fan. Taking various temperature readings from it, it sits at an average of about 80F with a couple spots reading 93F while ambient is around 76F. Very manageable. The cool tube is very impressive at how good it really functions as a cooling system. Using a 4" Vivosun inline fan (with 6-4 reducers to fit the tube), that pushes air through the tube and outside, the tube itself remains under 90F. My only gripe about the entire system is that I wish the cool tube was smaller. There is no real reason for it to be 20" long. ... show more

As others mention the included hardware is insufficient to assemble. The package also uses the reflector sides as the packing material for the tube which guarantees you will have to make some minor bends to make things fit. Both of the stars I did not give are due to the included brads. Yes you read that right, paper brad fasteners are included for assembly. As a final screw you the brads are less than 1" and so soft you can pop them out by blowing on the reflector. I can't knock it for the price once assembled, but I can strongly recommend you choose a product that does not require the purchase of additional hardware. On a good note you could shove anything (twig paperclip, string, baby carrot, etc.) through the holes to upgrade your product significantly. ... show more

I purchased the larger watt light for a client, got the tent, the fans, the ducting and everything together so the light sat for about 2 weeks while everything was being shipped. I went to turn it on for a test run and the light sputtered, then died out. I called iPower and within minutes I had a representative troubleshoot the issue with me, took about 5 minutes, the problem was the ballast- it wasn't holding power. Well, before I even asked, the rep ordered and shipped a new ballast to my address and then printed me a return label to send the one I had back. The reason I am telling you this story is because iPower is a good company that stands by it's products. Sometimes things just don't work and it's not 100% the fault of the company- things happen- but the fact that they fixed the issue before I even asked speaks volumes to me. Within 2 days of the phone call I had my replacement, it worked beautifully, I assembled the tent for my customer and have not heard a single negative thing since! Five stars. ... show more

What was good was acceptable. The reflector does not mount. It just sits on top loosely. The timer was manual, not digital, and failed at a very inopportune time. And the sodium bulb, a very small one, went out in less than 6 weeks. The metal halide is still fine. Suggest buying a full size sodium and keeping that one as emergency backup. the sodium bulb going out so early is the biggest reason why it gets two stars instead of three or four. If the seller replaces it I will come back and improve the rating and let you know, but when I tried to contact the company they told me that since I didn't buy it directly from them they were not interested in talking about anything. ... show more

Im a med patient and I needed a strong light that would keep the tent warm enough in our cold basement. This light is great! It only took 20 minutes to assemble, easy to hang, included MH bulb screwed in easily and it fired right up with no problems. It's keeping the 4x4 tent 79°F in a 50°F basement. My plants have responded really well and are now growing very vigorously. I couldn't be happier with this light. I went ahead and ordered the ipower 400w mh/hps combo light for my 3×3 and i know it'll be just as good. Highly recommended! Make sure you wear a gardeners hat or something similar and a good pair of grow room glasses. It can and will do major damage to your eyes if you're not careful. ☮☮ ... show more

I put this light into service 18 Aug. 2017 and it did seem to be just what I was looking for. It was easy to hang and appeared to be good quality construction. After 10 days there was some degradation in light intensity and the ballast didn't want to start every time the timer turned it on. I contacted the company and they said the bulb was likely defective and they sent a new bulb.. The new bulb did solve the problem and there was a noticeable difference in the light intensity of the old 400w HPS compared to the new. I had read others reviews prior to purchasing the light and many stated the bulbs left some to be desired. In fact, I say they are a good company selling relative to price good quality. They are priced below their competitors. I think it is a good light and priced so all can get into indoor gardening. Their warranty is good. I would recommend and I would buy again. ... show more

So far so good! Everything came packaged nicely and all of it was in working order. Just finished a few days of test runs with both hps and mh bulbs for 24 hours each. Purchased a 6” fan that connected easily to the tube with and has not gotten too hot at any point to touch and area with your hand as long as the fan remains on. Tested without the fan on for about three hours and the tube did get very hot. Would not want to leave it home alone wo some airflow. The only reason for the 4 stars is I have not grown under it yet so I cannot Atest to how well that works. It seems funny everyone is complaining about the warranty and customer service. You bought a light that 5+ years ago would’ve cost you 6 to 700$ for well under 200. If it burns up buy a new one and keep a replacement ballast and bulb on hand to find out what is not working before wasting more money. ... show more
