OK, so first impression out of the box I thought that the boards for the bookcase looked too thin. I was really scared that they weren’t going to be able to hold the weight of books that I own. I was debating on returning because I just didn’t trust it while I was holding the boards in my hands. I decided to give it a shot anyway because I was tired of my books just sitting in moving boxes and taking up space. I purchased two of these bookcases because my room has sloping walls so a regular bookcase wouldn’t have fit height wise. I was pleasantly surprised and was definitely proven wrong in this case. I like the fact that the bookcase came with screws to keep everything together instead of those tiny wood dowels. Usually when items come with the dowels I end up having to use wood glue in order to keep everything together so that it doesn’t just fall apart, plus it’s messy and takes awhile to dry. So this was a definite positive it makes it seem a lot sturdier and doesn’t look like it’ll fall apart easily. The only thing that I used the wood dowels for was for the bottom baseboard which came with 2 of them. It also had screws on the sides to keep the baseboard together. Instructions are easy to understand and all the pieces are clearly labeled so just make sure you are paying attention to that. It comes with a little Allen wrench but unless you want to be building this the ENTIRE day I’d suggest getting a drill. This can definitely be done by one person and a power tool. However, I would recommend two people do it since the boards might need to be held in place while you work on one side at a time. Seeing as I was by myself I just used the wall to stabilize it while I drilled away. I did not use the shelf board backing and left it open backed instead. Took off a star because it just felt too flimsy and pointless tbh and it looks nicer without. It took me a little over an hour to build the first one because I had to stop a few times to give my dog some scratches and petting otherwise he would be standing on the materials I was using🙄 he’s needy in case y’all didn’t realize and also kind of an a-hole when he doesn’t get attention (we think he was a cat in another life). 2nd one took me about 30min to build once I set him up with a treat puzzle toy and somewhere where he could see me lol. All in all really great bookcase. It shouldn’t take too long to build as long as you don’t have distractions etc. ... show more

We got this book shelf for our sons nursery and it matches our other furniture really well. So glad it came with anchors to attach it to the wall to prevent it from falling on him as he starts walking. It was simple to put together as well. I didn’t like the stickers that came to cover the screws and we also had a hard time getting the backing on and it cracked in a few places so we just left it off to show a pop of color from the wall. Box came extremely damaged so I was nervous opening the box. Only one board was damaged though it was minimal. Easy to put together, I did it alone and under an hour. It's cute, perfect size. Love that it came with an anchor.

I'm not sure why they call it "pear yellow" because it's not a yellow shelf. It looks kind of like pine. I think the thing that bothers me the most about it is that the screws don't screw in far enough to be flush with the side, so the little wooden stickers they give you to cover the screws are floating off the shelf and it makes it look cheap. Otherwise, I like the design and I will still use it, I was just expecting something different. ... show more

I didn’t realized how much I appreciate picture examples when building the shelf. The process of building the shelf was extremely easy and straight to the point when needing instructions. I loved the color and it seems as if all the parts came in looking well, no scratches or anything at all. It all felt study after it was build and is perfect for my office. Listen, the fact that the instructions and screws and all came in one bag and it was still all organized, sold me. I would recommend.. I’m sure I lucked out with getting the perfect shelves and screws but I would buy again if need be. ... show more

I purchased the Tiffany blue/green color in the largest size, and I love it! It took me about an hour to put it together. I didn't have my cordless drill, so I used the little Allen wrench that was included. This made my fingertips a bit sore, but not a big deal. I did not put the backing on, leaving all the shelves open at the front and back. It was a lot sturdier than I thought it was going to be once all the screws were tightened down. The only reason I did not give this item 5 stars was because the screws are not flush or recessed. It came with little stickers to camouflage the screws, but most of them stick out too far for the stickers to look right. I suppose I could tighten the screws further, driving them into the wood but I fear this would cause damage to the paint/color and/or the wood.
