This is the best charger I've used. It is a manual, spring loaded holder. It is easy to mount and remove my phone. It does a fast charge. The motorized phone holders make an annoying noise when the phone is not in the holder, but this charger is quiet and effective. The vent mount just works! It has a knurled knob to tighten the blades on the vent to keep it in place. It has a great swivel to change to Landscape or to tilt the phone so my wife can see it, if needed. Great item, great price, and I expect it to last a long time!

I already liked iOttie regular mount that get inserted into the CD slot, so I bought this for the added wireless charging feature. Using it with the provided wired power adapter, it charges my Galaxy S21FE at 7.5w or 1,500mAh. Maybe newer Galaxy is capable of full 10w charging, I don't know. Since most recent phones batteries are 4000mA or higher, this translates to at least 2.5hrs to charge a full battery or 90%. Certainly it is slower than cable charging, but still acceptable for me with the convenience of being wireless. I bought the refurb of course, I wouldn't buy it for full price unless I know for certain it charges my phone at 10w.

This is an excellent mount which can hold even the largest phones. It's easy to use and the charging works well, even through a case with a couple credit cards in it. However if you have a heavy phone like the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, the clip that holds this mount to the vent just isn't strong enough. It will hold at first, but after a short time, the vibration of the car shakes it loose. To be fair, I'm not really sure that this problem can be solved with a vent-mount product. The S21 Ultra is just too heavy. That said, I was able to solve the problem using a zip tie to firmly secure the clip to the car vent. The rest of the mount works great and I didn't want to return it, so manually securing the vent clip made this an excellent mount in my car. Just beware that you may need to get creative.

I have tried a number of options to secure a phone in a convenient place in a Mazda CX-9. I can store it out of sight in the console and use Android Auto, but some enterprise apps aren't compatible and Android Auto is a little bit hit or miss anyway. The vent mount is the best location, but so far other options just haven't been very secure. They don't attach tight enough to the vent for the weight of a larger phone, and the automatic release models will occasionally just let go of the phone in a sharp turn. I was so frustrated that I was ready to surrender. This one has been, by far, the most secure. There's a knob for tightening the connection to the vent, so you have a little bit more control over how tightly it connects to the vent. The phone mechanism is manual/spring operated, which is a bit more primitive than the ones that open themselves, but it actually seems to hold the phone much better. The wireless charging is fine. It doesn't seem to be the fastest or most powerful, but that's fine. I'm not running out to the car to give the phone a quick charge. I just need to be able to use the phone while I drive without killing the battery. This one does the job just fine.

I bought this product used. I suspect the unit was not actually used, but was a return and I think I know why. The micro USB plug that comes with this unit does not fit properly and falls out. Fortunately, I had a spare, which fits better. I taped it on and I no longer have a problem. The unit itself is sturdy and made of good materials. It fits solidly in my otherwise-unused CD player slot. The mechanism that holds the phone works well. The CD slot mounting method works much better for me than the AC vent. Overall, if you can fix the plug issue yourself, you will like this product. I recommend a used one if you can get it. Otherwise keep looking. Good luck!

I bought this for my wife and for my mother for xmas 2021 because I have one in my car and it works great and they both love it, so I got them both one of their own. Both came defective and haven't turned on to charge their phones once. The power supply lights up the green LED indicating the power supply is on, but the charge light on the iOttie doesn't come on and neither unit charges any phones. We tried mine and mine worked fine with both their phones in both their cars, so we know its the iOttie and not her car. My wife didn't have her car due to repairs for a little while, and my mother needed help setting it up in her car and since she lives a state away that meant me doing it for her the next time I saw her. By the time my wife got her car back and I saw my mother next to help her set it up in her car and we realized they were both defective, the return window was closed. This is a terrible product. When it works it's excellent, but I'm out nearly $100 on two of them that are duds and can't be sent back. Buy from a different brand instead. I will definitely not be trusting my dollar on iOttie again.

This charger is great. I really like the motorized charging base. It is easier for my wife to operate than the spring-loaded manual charging base I have in my car. It opens even after powering the car off. The wireless charger works well with my phone and my wife's phone. The suction mount from iOttie is the very best. It has a huge range of adjustment, and extends far enough from the pivot to mount to the very sloped windshield on my wife's car. The plug-in includes a USB port for charging a 2nd device, which is useful when we're all in the car together. The one downside of the motorized charging cradle is that you have to turn the car to power on the 12V outlet to get it to open so you can put your phone in the mount. It will still open once you reach your destination, so it's no problem to turn the car off before getting the phone out of the mount.
