I almost didn't buy this because there are a couple of old photos showing the ends of the bar broken off. The manufacturer must have changed their specs because there is NO WAY the bar I have is going to come apart with even hundreds of pounds of force applied, and I've tried. I use this with HEAVY resistance bands, like the X3 Elite range, doubled over for deadlifts. This bar can easily handle the load. I bought heavier carabiners to accommodate thick bands, but the swiveling eyelets handle that easily. Just a tip, be sure your carabiner is completely closed before you place a heavy load on any band. The exposed threads will cut any band under high tension instantly. This bar does require you to unlock a carabiner to change bands, so things like the Harambe bar or the X3 have an advantage in that regard. The width is so much more comfortable for a variety of movements than the X3. I can use a short bar, but I really prefer this. The biggest benefit is probably in the chest press (where the added length gives resistance earlier in the movement), and in the deadlift (where the hand position is more like a barbell). The foam grip is durable and comfortable. If you are wondering whether to spend hundreds of dollars on an X3 system and you are concerned about all the complaints people make about shredded bands, just get this bar, a good set of bands, and one of the many 3rd party footplates out there. You might have to google a bit to figure out what I'm talking about, but if you are familiar with X3 you will get what I'm talking about... EDIT: After closer observation, the bar does flex very slightly during heavy deadlifts with bands doubled over, but I see no sign that the bar could actually fail. This is the equivalent of hundreds of pounds of weight. Still a very useful bar. ... show more

I have purchased several resistance bands in the past. I never really got into it because it always felt awkward. This bar changed my use of resistance bands. Without having to buy a curl bar, I am able to hit my biceps pretty hard and get a good sweat going on. I love the low price entry on this. The hooks on the end are very sturdy. I use a 100 pound band for my curls and I have no concerns with the strength of the bar or hooks. This is a great product and someone who just needs something easy at home would benefit greatly from this equipment. ... show more

I love my resistance bands collection, and this bar is a great addition to that collection. It does seem to be sturdy enough, I will say though, at weights greater than 80 lbs or so, the eye hooks do squeal on their bearings. It’s a little annoying to say the least. They’re closed bearings, so there’s not much I can do but deal with it. I guess it’s ok with headphones on! The grips are a little cheap, I would rather have a textured section on the bar for gripping like a real weight bar. The cheap pads that are used are just not the greatest. All in all, it’s not a bad product, but it could have been better for sure. ... show more

Best straight bar to connect to resistance bands on the market!! INNSTAR is Hands Down the Best Brand for resistance bands on Amazon, or on the market for that matter. I own almost all of their brown camo (heavy) resistance bands,& after having a cheap band I bought from another company snap,& miss my eye by .5”, leaving me with a knot under,& a black eye for weeks, I looked into “safer” options for resistance bands. INNSTAR is it,& they have reinforced ballistic nylon over their bands,& even if one did somehow snap, it’s not going to fly back at you,& almost take your eye out. It will remain concealed inside the nylon,& You will remain free of harms way. I bought this to go with INNSTAR’s 205lb “bench press” setup,& mixed it up even more with adding Fat Grips to this bar, as they widen your grip,& work out more of your arms in general. This straight bar is one solid piece of steel,& made for serious use. I use it with all other INNSTAR products, as all come with easy clips to clip directly to this bar, making for seamless workout transitions,& less time wasted trying to set up your next exercise. Your safety is worth the $, so go with a REAL brand,& just buy this bar. I did,& I’ve not regretted it once. It’s a definite staple of my daily workout routines. ... show more

Just opened the box and was very pleased with the bar. It is relatively lightweight which is what I had hoped for. It is also just about the right size for my hands in diameter and circumference. I need gloves still for when I hold the resistance bands but I think the glove grip and bar will be perfect. Tried out a few exercises with the SUNPOW bands and those triangle metal rings for the bar end rings. Tried first set of squats with bar on should then overhead. Perfect! I could really control the movement and feel the burn with the bar steadying the movement. I am so pleased with this purchase and the bands. Also purchased a 4 inch step and 2 in risers for working out. I need those gloves now! ... show more

There are platforms with bands and then there's this metal bar that you connect bands to. This seems much more useful, versatile, and portable. It's very sturdy and also comfortable on the shoulders. It's helped me to create an even wider variety of exercises with my band set and bench. I would even say that it's a vital component of any home gym where you don't have any space and would like to do things like "barbell" bench presses, overhead presses, squats, and deadlifts. There is a satisfying feeling to simulating doing standard barbell movements as if you're not totally losing your gains due to a global pandemic (the one from 2020, not whatever pandemic is happening the year you're reading this...). I did have to get some carabiners because the bands I have from GoFit end with loops and not hooks, but those are like $3 at your favorite local mass retailer, be it Amazon or Wal-Mart. ... show more
