  • Flawless
Size: 40 Inch
Flawless! I've been using this monitor for 6 months, heavy usage. It's perfect. I replaced a smaller $1000 LG monitor with this monitor and it is every bit as good in every respect. Except the built-in speakers are a bit of a let down. But I almost never use the monitors speakers so it's a 0 issue for me. I'm running 5120x2160 at 100hz refresh rate in Hyprland environment and it's crystal clear with never a hickup. Color is excellent as I run windows and photoshop from another computer and find its color accuracy to be excellent. Highly recommend this monitor. ... show more

  • Excellent value. Excellent performance.
Size: 40 Inch
Prior to selecting this monitor on Amazon, I hadn't heard of this brand before. Of course, before purchasing it, I searched both the brand and this specific monitor. I was still apprehensive, but this was the only ultra-wide 5K2K monitor that is completely flat on the market that I could find, so I gambled. My bet paid off. This monitor is exactly what I hoped for, or perhaps, better than I expected. I fully understand why most (well over 90%) ultra-wide monitors are curved. The extreme left or right of the screen gets physically closer to the user, making it easier to see small items at the edge of the screen. But I do a lot of graphic design work and architectural drawings, and the curve of a typical ultra-wide monitor distorts many of the design elements, requiring me to constantly adjust my viewing position/angle to "guestimate" if design elements have the right angle or curvature. And even then, it is only when I actually print a draft that I can confirm my design's accuracy. However, with this particular FLAT monitor, my work productivity and comfort are significantly improved. I am totally pleased with this monitor. Plus, since I've been using it for 5 months now, it has proven to be reliable, well-featured, color-accurate and affordable purchase. I suppose the only downsides to this monitor are the fact that it isn't OLED, and that the refresh rate is 100Hz. An OLED option with the same resolution and flat design would have been better, but the color range of this monitor is still excellent at 10-bit color. Since I don't game, the refresh rate is satisfactory, and I don't need to immersive experience benefit of curved monitors. If INNOCN releases an OLED version of this monitor, I may be tempted to upgrade. Otherwise, I'm really happy this monitor. The built-in speakers are of average sound quality, but since I have external speakers anyway, the sound quality is really a non-issue. All in all, this was an excellent purchase. ... show more

  • Excellent Value 40" Ultrawide for Mac Users
Size: 40 Inch
I purchased the Innocn 40C1U as a high-value ultrawide monitor, and for the price, it delivers exceptional productivity features, especially for macOS users. It's a great choice, though it does have a few caveats. 👍 The Good Effortless Setup: Setup was simple and straightforward right out of the box, getting me up and running quickly. Desk Fit and Size: Despite its 40-inch size, it fits my 47-inch wide, 24-inch deep desk well, leaving adequate room for my laptop, keyboard, mouse, and other doodads. • Single-Cable Dream: The USB-C with Power Delivery (PD) and display support is a massive win. Being able to power my laptop and drive the display with one cable instantly cleans up the desk and is a feature I highly recommend. • Mac/Productivity Ready (With a Tweak): The PPI (Pixels Per Inch) is good enough for a productive Mac setup. It's certainly not "Studio Display" level, but it is clear and sharp enough to make text look great. I found that using an app like BetterDisplay is an absolute must to properly enable HiDPI mode and unlock the monitor's full potential on a Mac. 100 Hz refresh rate is awesome too. • Color Profile: After enabling HiDPI, I recommend switching the color profile to P3 or a similar wide-gamut profile for much better color reproduction. • Value: Overall, the value for money is outstanding for a monitor of this size and feature set. 👎 The Cons / Areas for Improvement • Display Quality: • The brightness is only "meh." It's adequate for most indoor situations but won't cut it in a very bright room. Can only run it at 100% •I didn't test HDR, but by proxy it should be meh considering the brightness is meh. Ergonomics: I genuinely wish this monitor were slightly curved. Coming from a 49-inch ultrawide, the flat 40-inch display takes quite an adjustment. The edges of the flat panel are very noticeable and can feel a little far away. • Sound: The built-in speakers are extremely weak. Plan on using external speakers or headphones. In Summary If you need a large, high-resolution ultrawide for productivity and code with excellent single-cable USB-C connectivity, and you are prepared to adjust the settings (especially brightness and HiDPI), this monitor is a fantastic deal. If you are a media creator who needs true HDR or a top-tier brightness/contrast ratio, you should look elsewhere. For the most part this is fantastic for everyone. ... show more

  • Amazing but limited black colors. Requires change of OS and browser settings
Size: 40 Inch
This thing is amazing! The one problem is that the black color range is extremely limited but it is so cheap that I'm going to keep it at 5 stars. Just make sure to change your browser and desktop settings to make use of your good GPU instead of the default Intel GPU. Browsers limit their demands on your hardware so if you do not change the settings within your browser everything will be super slow. Additionally, 2.1 HDMI cables work great. The lightning USBC port on my computer couldn't handle the load (probably because it was charging and some hardware limitations. ... show more

  • Lots of issues - 100 Hz with compressed video.
Size: 40 Inch
I bought this monitor so I had more real-estate width wise than my 16:9 4K LG Monitor. Pros: - Wide Screen whilst still 2160 Res High. - Easy to assemble with no tools. - Built in Speakers which are not to bad. - Works with MacBook Air M1 - Has Standard 3 Pin Kettle Plug with built in power supply. Cons: - Quality is nowhere near as crisp as my 4K LG monitor (This should be the same just wider.) - It does not seem as vivid as my 32 inch 4K LG monitor. - The ports are on the right side when I was told they are in the middle. - The power port is closer to left side not center. - BIG ONE - To get 100 Hz, you have to use compressed data thus degrading the signal. - Has glitched out twice when adjusting the stand. - The Screen is over 2 inches thick, which for a flat screen is very thick, and that excludes the stand. I had high hopes for this monitor considering its cost, the LG 32" 4K I bought for $199 at Costco, so this is a massive premium compared to that for a little wider monitor. The ports on the side is a disaster as one of my PC's cable will no longer reach, and that was already an extended cable. It makes for messy cables, and since the cables stick down, they collide with my Bose speaker below it. All things considered, in my opinion, this should be more like a $399 monitor. ... show more

  • A fine monitor with some flaws
Size: 40 Inch
If you've done any research at all, you'll know that other 5k2k displays are WAY more expensive than this one - the cheapest one I could find from a reputable manufacturer was $1600. For the price I paid ($712 before tax), this is a perfectly fine monitor, but don't expect anything close to the more expensive options. The screen is IPS, but the horizontal viewing angles are really poor, and that's made even more apparent by the flat screen. Anything towards either edge is significantly dimmer than the center portion when viewed head on. Brightness is acceptable, but you won't be able to use it in a very bright room or under direct sunlight. The speakers are decent, but are NOT controllable using DCC. Brightness through DCC works, but you must use the physical volume buttons on the monitor to control the volume. The design is also pretty basic and the cable management is awful. They put the cable hole way too low, so the only way to actually hide the cable is to use the monitor on it's lowest height setting. That's not going to be comfortable for 99% of people, so there's basically no way to hide the power cord. My stand also arrived scratched, but the seller made it right. Having said all that, I have no interest in paying $1600+ for a better monitor, so I'll be keeping this regardless of its flaws. If you don't care too much about viewing angles or brightness, this works well enough with my macbook pro m2. I get the full 100hz at any resolution. HDR is broken on macos and only works at non hidpi resolutions, but that's not a fault of this monitor. ... show more

  • Excellent value at this price point
I have been thoroughly impressed with how well this monitor performs considering how (relatively) cheap it was. For this level of performance from most "well-known" brands, you'll be paying 2-3x as much. It certainly has a few quirks, but all of them can be overlooked considering the price. I spent a pretty penny upgrading my CPU and GPU this year, only to experience screen tearing on my 60fps monitor. Since there wasn't much room left in the budget, I settled for this "cheap-o" monitor and figured I'd upgrade in a few months if it was trash. As of right now, I will be keeping this monitor until it eventually fails. I'm actually considering getting another one so both displays are high refresh rate. Pros: * Excellent refresh rate (and adaptive sync) * Great color (especially if you play with the settings a little) * Needs limited setup (just a bit of menu time during first use and then never again for most users) * Dirt cheap compared to the same stats from other manufacturers Neutral: * Two red LED's on the front (great if your setup is red, but can be turned off otherwise) * The stand is not very tall or adjustable (about 3-4" off desk), but it's extremely solid construction and the monitor can be wall-mounted instead if you prefer. I personally have always used a riser so this doesn't bother me. * A few of the color mode presets (game, movie, FPS, RTS, etc) are pretty similar. Cons: * Menu navigation is hard to get used to. It's not intuitive at all, and it's easy to lose your place or select the wrong thing. You do get used to it over time, but changing from game mode to movie mode for example is not exactly quick. * If you select the wrong language during first startup (very easy to do), then it's quite annoying to figure out how to change it back to English. If this happens to you, language is the top/first setting under the "OSD" sub-menu. * There is a slight "second bezel" effect around the screen. By this I mean that the actual illuminated display area does not quite run from bezel-to-bezel. There is about a 4mm black border around the entire screen. Honestly I saw some reviews complain about this but I don't even notice it during use. Honestly in practice it just looks like the monitor has a slightly thicker bezel than it actually does. Overall, really cannot recommend this monitor enough for a budget gaming setup. ... show more
