This was a little awkward to set up with one person but it wasn't hard by any means. I have a small space between my TV area and my sliding glass door and this fits perfectly there. The only thing I don't like is that the underneath of the top three shelves are white, whereas the underneath of the bottom shelf is the same wood texture all around. I don't know why they wouldn't have made that one white on the bottom and the rest full wood, as you can see the underneath of the top three shelves. Otherwise, great buy! ... show more

I bought this bookshelf because I wanted to update my furniture and had been using an old, dumpy-looking particle board set from when I was in college. I like the look of this ladder shelf bookshelf although it feels less substantial than my old particle board set (my old bookshelf is actually difficult to pick up and move, whereas this I can lift this one with one hand). Echoing some other reviewers, the instructions are not clear. The instructions are definitely there (at least they were in mine), but they were not as helpful as they could be. Namely, the instructions list items by letters, but literally no item is lettered in the box (e.g., no stickers on the parts or the tools). I had to basically guess which piece was which and by looking at the picture on the box. Another thing is, I am not sure how resilient the metal will be. As I was tightening the screws, I noticed the metal started to bend inward. The poles are hollow metal, not solid. I think the instructions should have warned about not over-tightening. All in all, I like the look of it, I feel that the boards are solid (they feel more like plastic than particle board). I have not put any books on it yet, and I realize I will likely need to buy bookends as the sides are completely open. But as of now, I think I will keep this. ... show more

So nice I bought it twice. We have a growing plant obsession and these shelves were a great value. With watering weekly or more often the shelves clean easily and have not left any water stains. We opted to leave out the back cross bars for more freedom of movement. Update: I now have purchased a third shelf for my plant “problem”. ... show more

I love this self! Very easy to assemble and I did it myself. I use it as extra storage for my home office. It come with all that’s needed to assemble even a few tools. I would say that if you need it sturdy to put valuables or anything important on it that you secure it to the wall. The give you the materials to do that. This little bookshelf worked out well for me. I wanted a small set of shelves in my laundry room. This now holds bottles of soft drinks, other cleaning supplies, and some dog coats. I recommend it. I had a bit of difficulty trying to hold it together while assembling (because I was a party of 1), but when I finally braced it up, then I could continue. I did not tighten all the bolts until I was completely finished! P.S. The shelves also came with white bottoms, so I suppose you could have those side up instead of the wood grain look. ... show more

I bought this shelf for my plants. It was very easy to put together. No need for any tools. Everything you need for assembly is included in the box. I had it up and ready in one episode of South Park. The directions were easy to follow (mostly pictures.) I am strongly considering buying another one.

Will I recommend this product no. I had to hammer one of the sides because the boxes didnt fit the holes to screw. Maybe use regular screws next time i had to go out & buy a drill because i didnt think u would need one normally u just hammer it into the wall. Nothing was labeled this was the first ever thing i got from amazon that didnt label the letters to know what object is what. Next time if i want a long shelve i will just go to IKEA. Lesson learned never buy from this company on amazon again. ... show more
