I like the product a lot. I only wish it was not so expensive. It makes it hard to grow mre Bonsai trees when you have to pay $15-$20 for two quarts of soil. That amount doesn't go very far, and I'm retired and don't have deep pockets to shell out s lot of money to have Bonsai soil on hand at all times. It the makers of Bosai soil to reduce the cost to a more reasonable amount, like $9.95 for 2 to 3 quarts, I could order it more often than I do now. ... show more

I use this on all plants and add a little organic soil to it with . My feet desert rose plants are doing so much better because they don’t like wet . The only downside is it makes the pots a lot heavier. However it’s to be expected and my plants love it.

    • Bonsai soil is not soil (as we know it).

Very easy to use and a whole lot less messier than dirt! Bonsai soil is actually mini pebbles; the plant gets all its nutrients from these pebbles. I rinse my plant weekly and I “Still” have my plant. I’m not a plant killer per se; but some plants are a lot more sensitive to my touch.

This pieces in this orchid mix are not appropriate for this application; very small pieces of bark fall out of the sides of the pot. It will be worse when I water. Orchid mix should be much coarser.
