  • Decent pole
Size: 16 feet
Got this for the hawk kite to fly. It's great and sturdy. Don't run it over with a car though... Fiberglass will lose every time. When it was working, it worked great. It held its self and held up in strong winds. It flexed with the wind, but not too much. Ill get another of the same.

Size: 10 feet
UPDATE (5 stars) The wonderful customer service team reached out and we talked a bit about what went wrong. in my case, the pole segments weren't nested together when I poured out the contents of the package. The service team sent me a replacement of the broken piece. Now that I know how it works (pieces telescope out) all is great! ORIGINAL REVIEW (2 stars) So I'm an idiot. Opened the pouch, poured out the contents, and proceeded to try and fit the 3 pieces (for 10ft version) together. Needless to say, you can't. I thought you were supposed to twist one end into the other...but that's near impossible. Needless to say, I broke the top piece (not as heavy duty as it says. I admit to not knowing how to extend/tighten the pole. And my attempt to figure it out broke the thing. That said, would it kill you guys to include some instructions? ... show more

  • Heavy duty means light weight flags
Size: 16 feet
I ordered the 16 ft pole for two purposes. First to fly a flag on the fourth of July, second to support a possible assortment of amatuer radio antennas for temporary mobile use. To set the pole in the ground I used a "cork screw" type umbrella holder. That gave me a firm foundation. I went large at first. I Attatched a 5 by 9.5 ft flag. The pole held the flag with a bow in the top 3/8 inch section, the top section is solid fiberglass. The top section bent much like a fishing rod with fighting fish hooked. The lower, thicker section hardly flexed. A slight breeze did not damage the pole. I tried to add guy rope, but the rope would have to be attached to the top rod inthe middle of the flag, no good. Next I mounted a 3 by 5 ft flag. Besides the size this was a much lighter nylon woven flag than the first. The light breezes (under 5 mph) cause a slight flex in the upper section, but that is expected. I am guessing, but I would expect this to hold up fine in winds up to 15 mph for this size flag. Now for the antennas. Attaching the ends of a dipole to the eyelet on the top segment caused the top segment to bow in toward the feed point. 66 feet of 12 gauge wire held ok, 123 feet is doubtful. using it to support the center balun is fine except that the weight would cause the top segment to flex somel. The top segment is too narrow to clamp a vertical antenna for two meters to (or a buddy pole type dipole). You can use a lower segment without raising the top segment, but you lose four feet of height with each segment you don't use. The segments are held in place by you jamming the segments as you extend them. The segments are tapered at the ends. You can add a hose clamp to the joint, but the tube is not notched to allow a clamp to compress the material. Time and use will lessen the friction on these grips. But I am guessing they will be good for a 3 or 4 pound vertical load for many uses. For storage the pole collapses into itself with two rubber caps that allow it to store inside itself. Overall lenght is four ft. It is sold in a fabric bag, that allows you to hang it on a peg. Nice product so long as you know its' limits. ... show more

  • Cool Toy
Size: 13 feet
Given some negative reviews, I'd like to say this is a fun, compact and useful telescoping pole. Earlier reviews noted assembly problems including an irreversible issue if "unpacked" incorrectly, and that was very helpful information. There are no meaningful instructions with it, but I unpacked it carefully and played with it to figure out how it works. You have to remove the "pull off cap", not the unscrew cap at the other end. It has a neat twist mechanism where once you pull out a length fully you simply twist the two segment one way to lock it and the other way to unlock it by some invisible mechanism! The first three sections (extending to about 10 feet) are fairly rigid and it could be used as such, but the thinnest and 4th segment has more flex, especially if you waggle it, but the whole thing seems well built and secure. It would be nice if maker provided this/other descriptions of it online and also provided directions with the unit. I plan to use it as a pointer in my 30 foot high classroom and also as a walking stick because you can safely poke a bear from 13 feet away! ... show more

  • Snapped 2nd day at beach.
Size: 10 feet
Sadly the top piece of our pole snapped/broke 2nd time used. Pole was placed in a (sand screw) and extended fully. Held up well first day & only few hours next day. We did receive a lot of nice compliments. Fish sock was cute & similar sock type, American flag not so much. Seemed to be a great idea for our July 4th beach trip, compact & easy. We had a nice calm beach days. Unsure if this item had defect or not . Husband in frustration simply tossed it so I am unable to return. My loss. Only a couple pictures. Flag pic was taken from 20th floor balcony. ... show more

  • I highly recommend this item
Size: 19 feet
I bought this pole to fly a bali flag on the beach. It also supports one side of a sign that we post with beach info. I bought another different one from another Amazon seller, but it was not as heavy duty. The other was red. That one came with the small ring on the tip broken already. This one is way stronger. The ring on the tip is also a lot beefier. It is actually over 20 feet long. We had it flying with a 5 meter bali flag on a breezy day on the beach, and we only had it buried a little over a foot in wet sand. It never fell over. If you bury it in the sand, be prepared to dig it back out. If you just pull it up, the rubber cap on the end might stay behind in the sand. Also be prepared to rinse it off occasionally. I highly recommend this item, it is very functional and I plan on buying a second. I also have a ten footer and it is just as good. ... show more
