  • So I'm an idiot. Opened the pouch, poured ...
Size: 10 feet
UPDATE (5 stars) The wonderful customer service team reached out and we talked a bit about what went wrong. in my case, the pole segments weren't nested together when I poured out the contents of the package. The service team sent me a replacement of the broken piece. Now that I know how it works (pieces telescope out) all is great! ORIGINAL REVIEW (2 stars) So I'm an idiot. Opened the pouch, poured out the contents, and proceeded to try and fit the 3 pieces (for 10ft version) together. Needless to say, you can't. I thought you were supposed to twist one end into the other...but that's near impossible. Needless to say, I broke the top piece (not as heavy duty as it says. I admit to not knowing how to extend/tighten the pole. And my attempt to figure it out broke the thing. That said, would it kill you guys to include some instructions? ... show more

  • Very strong and lightweight!
Size: 10 feet
This review is going to be a bit different as I have no experience how it would work as a flag pole though I think it would be great. I used this as a wonderful toy for my Rhodesian Ridgeback pup. She is not quite 6 months old and already very long legged and about 50lbs of high energy! I used a small kong toy made of rubber on the end of about 6 feet of cloths line tied to the swivel tip and it makes a wonderful lunge line type thing for her to chase and run while I (actually mostly my wife) can stand relatively still . When she gets hold of the kong, she trots like a show pony and gets amazing exercise without killing us trying to keep up with her! The pole is very stout and lightweight at the same time and much less expensive than a deep sea fishing rod that it would take to replace it! Easy to extend, easy to collapse, wonderful for my needs!! ... show more

  • Great product if you know what you're doing.
Size: 22 feet
I used this pole on my pontoon boat to fly a light weight flag and it work great. I read a lot of reviews of people bitching about it not being heavy duty enough for their heavier flags or that it didn't accommodate a second mounting point for a flag. I even read where someone tried to use 4 of them for an awning. Just shows that most people didn't read all the info on it. They are primarily meant for wind socks not flags. You can fly up to a 3 x 5 flag with no problems if it a light weight material though. If it's a flag such as a US Flag made of heavy material and sewn symbols it's just going to be too heavy for a flag pole meant to sway and flex in the wind. As far as the second grommet on the flag goes, you just need to zip tie or use a banded strap with a carabenaer. I used 1 1/2" PVC Pipe cap to set the base of the pole in and and a 2 hole strap to support it to the ski pole. Its a great pole if used in the right manner. If your not mechanically inclined you might want to get help from.soneone who is. Either way I have driven my boat up to 28 mph with it fully extended and alas, no problems yet. ... show more

  • Snapped 2nd day at beach.
Size: 10 feet
Sadly the top piece of our pole snapped/broke 2nd time used. Pole was placed in a (sand screw) and extended fully. Held up well first day & only few hours next day. We did receive a lot of nice compliments. Fish sock was cute & similar sock type, American flag not so much. Seemed to be a great idea for our July 4th beach trip, compact & easy. We had a nice calm beach days. Unsure if this item had defect or not . Husband in frustration simply tossed it so I am unable to return. My loss. Only a couple pictures. Flag pic was taken from 20th floor balcony. ... show more

  • I highly recommend this item
Size: 19 feet
I bought this pole to fly a bali flag on the beach. It also supports one side of a sign that we post with beach info. I bought another different one from another Amazon seller, but it was not as heavy duty. The other was red. That one came with the small ring on the tip broken already. This one is way stronger. The ring on the tip is also a lot beefier. It is actually over 20 feet long. We had it flying with a 5 meter bali flag on a breezy day on the beach, and we only had it buried a little over a foot in wet sand. It never fell over. If you bury it in the sand, be prepared to dig it back out. If you just pull it up, the rubber cap on the end might stay behind in the sand. Also be prepared to rinse it off occasionally. I highly recommend this item, it is very functional and I plan on buying a second. I also have a ten footer and it is just as good. ... show more

  • Nice pole but poor QC
Size: 13 feet
This is a 4 or 5 star pole, but it's getting 3 stars because it arrived partly broken. The bottom section is designed with a screw-on cap on the bottom that allows you to remove the upper sections, and when I removed the pole from the box this screw-on cap was broken off its threads. This results in the upper sections falling out through the bottom when you pick the unit up. This was so easily fixed with duct tape that it is not worth my time to contact the vendor and get a new pole or other solution. What's irritating is the lack of quality control at the point of packing the pole up for sending. There's no way this broken cap happened after it left vendor shipping. So, nice pole, poor QC, bottom line I can live with it. ... show more

  • Cool Toy
Size: 13 feet
Given some negative reviews, I'd like to say this is a fun, compact and useful telescoping pole. Earlier reviews noted assembly problems including an irreversible issue if "unpacked" incorrectly, and that was very helpful information. There are no meaningful instructions with it, but I unpacked it carefully and played with it to figure out how it works. You have to remove the "pull off cap", not the unscrew cap at the other end. It has a neat twist mechanism where once you pull out a length fully you simply twist the two segment one way to lock it and the other way to unlock it by some invisible mechanism! The first three sections (extending to about 10 feet) are fairly rigid and it could be used as such, but the thinnest and 4th segment has more flex, especially if you waggle it, but the whole thing seems well built and secure. It would be nice if maker provided this/other descriptions of it online and also provided directions with the unit. I plan to use it as a pointer in my 30 foot high classroom and also as a walking stick because you can safely poke a bear from 13 feet away! ... show more
