My son and I are doing a "laminated" decorative sword project. We have cut the wood into 5/16" wide sections, and will glue these sections together over a central dowel rod for stability. We will then belt sand the "sword" down into an edged profile, and expect a beautiful pattern from the different wood colors and grains.
