I can't sing the praise of this enough. It is exactly what I needed to fix the exterior light on a mobile home I am refurbishing. The old light canopy was screwed directly to the metal home siding and even though it was caulked, there was water in it and leaked through the wall. Exactly what I was looking for to fix my problem. With how the bracing was done on my metal shop and attaching the electric box and centering with the door I had to mount in the middle of a high ridge on the metal panel. Cut with my Dremel to fit this in perfectly and sealed with silicone. I ordered two different ones and this one was more heavy duty feeling as far as plastic goes. ... show more

Exactly what I needed. Replacing my outdoor light, I realized there was no box holding the wires behind the plate. After installing pancake boxes, I found there was about a 1/2 inch gap between the plate and my wall. The normal hardware stores didn't have what I was looking for. Found this in a panic and luckily these were 1 day shipping. I bought both the white and black and ultimately went with the black. Super easy to mount (after taking down the pancake box). I actually used other hardware to mount as I saw some complaints that the hardware didn't fit properly. I did have to turn the mount to have the point at the top or else the plate would have spilled over letting moisture in. The circular universal plate that came with the light fit perfectly onto this mount, I just had to level it since I had to turn the mount. If I would have mounted it like the directions said, I think the plate would have been level by default. I just wish it would have been slightly bigger. After caulking everything, it looks great! ... show more

The iMBA Price vertical siding mounting block 8161 is a simple product for "old work" electrical lighting box replacement. I found some inconsistencies re: instructions vs. supplied parts. The "supplied cable connector" is clearly not the same as described in the instructions. Also, instructions show installation from the outside, while it should be inserted from the backside. ... show more

Couldn't find a black mount for our new black exterior light fixture in either of the big box store I went to. So had to order online & wait for delivery. This mount was perfect for our needs (brick home, NOT horizontal siding). It has a selection of "punch outs" on back for us to use to send wire through.
