  • Worked perfectly to power an Asus WL-500G router
Size: 4.9 Foot (Pack of 1)
Worked perfectly to power an Asus WL-500G router with a failed power supply. (Note to self: All of the LEDs on the board were solid and router would not boot == failed power supply. (Even though the transformer still showed 5v on a multimeter.)) The original worked fine for ten years... hopefully this one lasts as long. • Great power adapter for Beaglebone Black
Size: 4.9 Foot (Pack of 1)
I purchased this adapter after receiving a Beaglebone Black credit card-sized computer as a present, since the BBB's don't come with one. It is the appropriate voltage and connector size for it if you want to operate one without connecting it to the USB port of the computer. Since this hadn't been vetted (as far as I knew) by anyone for the BBB's I wanted to do some testing before connecting it to my board. For a test setup I used high wattage resistors to draw various loads while measuring the output voltage with a digital multimeter. My first observation is that there is a lag time (1 -2 secs.) before the voltage comes up. I am viewing this as a positive, since it allows the regulating / switching components to stabilize before applying power to the output (I didn't look at it on an oscilloscope... but the meter never displayed a reading above the voltage it regulated at). And this does appear to be a high-efficiency switching supply since it never really became warm under load. Moving on the the measurements, my observations were: No load ----5.23V dc with ~2mV of ripple ~.5 A ----5.20V dc with < 1mV of ripple (can't measure less than 1mV ac on my meter) ~1 A ----5.10V dc with < 1mV of ripple ~1.7A ----5.00V dc with < 1 mV of ripple Since the BBB uses 5 volts only as a source to regulate down to lower voltages, the amount of regulation is way more than adequate. I did not test it all the way up to 2 amps since it is not a good idea to operate a supply all the way at its upper limit. Based on the measurements I took, I would feel confident that it would still be at least 4.9 V at that load. If I really wanted to use it right at 2 amps (its maximum rated capacity) I would make that measurement first, however. So far, I have used it for several hours straight on my BBB without a hiccup. I had tested another wall wart that I had on hand that was rated at 5V and 2 amps, and found that its output drooped to less than 4 V at only 1 amp. That is what prompted my purchase of this one. In my opinion, this supply is about as good as it gets for a wall wart. You are going to get some amount of voltage drop over the long cord since the voltage regulation takes place back inside of the supply body. Only thing I would change is I would have liked for the cord to be the kind that is more flexible with a thicker, round sheath. The cord in the picture seems to depict that, but the actual cord is a kind of thin zip-cord. I would have paid 50 cents or a buck more for that. So a little bit of caution might be in order if you are disconnecting / reconnecting this supply a lot and winding it up in between. Try to keep it as straight and smooth as possible (smooth meaning don't let it get twisted up... try to do this anyway with any wall wart supply), and it will probably last as long as whatever you are powering will last. (In other words, try to wind the cord in a loop, don't just ball it up.) ... show more

  • I'll update my review if it catches fire like the old one did
Size: 4.9 Foot (Pack of 1)
The connector I need is a different size, but I knew this from this item's description (which is correct) so I planned on splicing my old adapter's cable to make it fit after carefully making sure the voltage and current specs matched. Center post is positive. While I had the product on the bench, I went ahead and ran some tests with my multimeter. It puts out 5.02 volts open circuit, so it is indeed a regulated supply. A fairly precise one at that. No open circuit voltage jumps. It is working well for my application so far. I'll update my review if it catches fire like the old one did, which was from a different brand. ... show more

  • Did not fit as advertised/ Could not return
Size: 4.9 Foot (Pack of 1)
Even though this was a low cost item, it should have done what it was supposed to do. The jack was the wrong size for the Sonos Bridge and that is what they advertised as its intended purpose. I tried to return it and I would receive no money for it, I imagine due to the seller's shipping costs being more or near the purchase price. The consumer should not take the hit on this one! ... show more

  • Great replacement DC adapter...
Size: 4.9 Foot (Pack of 1)
I purchased one of these adapters to use as a replacement for a Monoprice VGA-to-HDMI convertor (model: HDC-VAH) as the one that came with the unit only lasted for five uses. I realize these types of DC adapters are usually of cheap quality, and have unknown life expectancies, so I plan on purchasing another of these to have as a spare. The new adapter has been used for two weeks now and it seems to be working wonderfully. (Be forewarned that the picture on Amazon.com at the time of this writing does not accurately depict the adapter. I was hoping that the adapter would not block any receptacles on a typical power strip. Sadly this unit covers two receptacles.) Update 12/1/14: This power supply is UL listed. (I forgot to state that in my original review.) Also, after several months of use it is still working great! I haven't had to use my "back up" one yet. ... show more

  • iMBAPrice 5V DC Wall Power Adapter UL Listed...
Size: 4.9 Foot (Pack of 1)
This works great. It didn't fit the device I bought it for, but am able to use it with something else. Must be there are different size 5 volts, because this was too big. Both products said 5V DC. So I just continued to use batteries for the star and moon spinning night light. The light may have been a China product, and maybe was made to their voltage specifications. All I know was it didn't fit. But the products works great in another device as I mentioned. ... show more

  • Good for about 1.25 years.
Size: 4.9 Foot (Pack of 1)
Worked find for 15 months, then the device it was powering started to act flaky. Replacing the wall wart solved the problem. The price is low enough that I will give it three stars. If it lasted longer, I would give it more.

  • How can I not love it.
Size: 4.9 Foot (Pack of 1)
How can I not love it.......I was very skeptical after reading some of the reviews stating it said it was 10V instead of 2 etc.......but it came in a nice package and read as advertised. Works perfect to change my Ihome Bluetooth wireless speaker. and saved $$$$. They wanted $21 for the charger and I would have had to pay for shipping and wait a week. Now I have it for 7.99 and came in 2 days...Yipppeeeee.. I LOVE saving money. ... show more
