  • Useful Blank Cards!
Do you want to make your own flash cards, tarot cards, playable cards? This deck is for you. A good way to keep these clean per use is to laminate them! It takes extra time, but it is very worth it if you plan on reusing your cards multiple times.

  • Multiple writing instruments works on matte side
I just received this today after trying out another brand that had a glossy surface and so far, I’m happy with my initial impression. There’s a glossy side and a matte side. The glossy side will accept sharpie, everything else smears or won’t show anything but indentations. The matte side is good. I added a photo of my sampling and the matte surface is absorbent enough to accept multiple pencils and pens. Pencils work, ball point pens work, sharpies definitely work, sharpie highlighters work too. I also tested it with my favorite pen, the uniball vision elite and I touched it about 3-5 minutes after writing and it slightly smeared. I think if I allow it to dry undisturbed for awhile, it may dry without smearing…but the sharpie ultra fine point writes in the thinness similar to the elite. Even color pencils will put color on this surface. Granted initially I tried to write with the color pencil and it didn’t produce any color. Pressing it down harder leaves indentation. But if I use a light touch to shade and fill color from color pencils, it works decent enough for that. Overall I’m pleased with it and it’s going to be fun making up my own cards with an artistic flare! Price point was good and the thickness of the card is good. It’s a standard playing card size, it would be great if there’s a larger version like the jumbo size playing cards or even larger like standard tarot card size. ... show more

  • Good quality cards, but not easy to tell which side to write/draw on!
We initially bought these to create a little "Make Your Own Card Games" gift for a child. We wanted to put blank cards with markers into a box with instructions for designing & playing a couple unique games. Simple games to let the child use their creativity making art and maybe tweak some of the game rules. We think the final product turned out great, but the IMAGAME cards ended up not making the cut. The problem was that it's not easy to tell which side of them is supposed to be writable. You need to rotate each card underneath a light, and (presumably) the side that is a little less shiny is the side to draw on. But it was often difficult to tell the difference between the two sides! It definitely wouldn't have been easy for the child. I think even us adults would've occasionally messed up and drawn on the wrong side, which would've been bad for making a card game: having cards with even a subtle difference in shininess on their backs would've effectively marked some of them. Look at the image I'm including. The "non-glossy" (writable) side is on the left, and the "glossy" (non-writable) side is on the right. Can you tell the difference? Yeah. So we ultimately went with a different brand of blank playing cards (Blue Panda) instead. They had a very clear cardback pattern on one side so it was obvious which side to draw on. The downside is that, unlike IMAGAME, Blue Panda's drawable sides were coated and therefore not ideal for using colored pencils or crayons. But we just got some fine point permanent pens that are designed to be used on glossy surfaces. So they worked fine for our needs. In the future, I would love to see the coated ("don't draw on me") side of IMAGAME's cards be more obvious. Maybe they could be a solid color or pattern the way the Blue Panda cards are. I'm not sure how much cost that adds to the manufacturing process, so maybe it's not worth it to IMAGAME to do that. And I will admit that IMAGAME is asking an extremely fair price for the number of cards you get, which is why I'm still giving it four stars. Bottom line: if you're willing to go slowly & confirm which side is which every time you draw on a new card, great! You'll likely get good results from these. But if you're looking for potential playing cards that are a little more mistake-proof, I'd look elsewhere. ... show more

  • Great for notecards
I used these as notecards to study for the MCAT. I love the texture - smooth, laminated, and glossy (but not as glossy as photo paper, which makes these cards well-balanced in their gloss level). One caveat, which is a mystery to me, that I’ve discovered is that fine-point and ultra-fine-point sharpies do smear, HOWEVER, standard sharpies do not smear at all if you let them sit for a few seconds. Standard ballpoint pens work perfectly fine on these cards. Gel pens and non-sharpie markers would smear. These are the size of a deck of playing cards. The boxes in which the cards come are great for storing completed study notecards, as you can write on the outside of the boxes to indicate the subjects of the flash cards inside. I have purchased several packs of these cards because I REALLY like them. They are exactly what I was looking for. I personally really enjoy the smooth, mildly-glossy texture on my hand. If you happen to be particularly sensitive to textures of paper, these are a great option. ... show more

  • Great to make your own cards
Nice white, heavy-weight card stock, rounded corners, sturdy, feel great in your hands. Takes marker beautifully. One side coated, other side matte. Ok to write and draw on either side. I made spelling cards for my young grandson. See photos. Very satisfying to use!
