It was my favorite helmet. Perfect fit, lightweight. I loved the fact that I could wear it as a full faced helmet and also as a half helmet. That is until yestesterday, conveniently after the return window expired, a screw came loose while riding on the highway, the visor caught the wind and flipped up- violently whipping my head in the process. I almost lost control in the process, which could have been bad becasue I was crossing a bridge and got uncomfortably close to the edge because of this. this scared me enough to not want to use it anymore. The helmet was perfect- until it wasn't and then I almost died.

It's not a five star helmet but it's a five star VALUE for a helmut. Here are the issues I have had so far. First, a small plastic piece snapped off exposing the screws (see picture below). It's held on by three plastic tabs and when they break you can't put it back on. There is no loss of function through. Just a look thing. Second, one of the screws holding on the visor connector fell off (see picture). This is a big issue as the visor now hangs off and needs to be removed. So you're driving without it. I went right to home depot, removed the remaining screw, found duplicates, and repaired the helmut. You may want to keep a Philips screwdriver with spare screws on you at all times. For reference the screws are M4-0.7 mm 8 x mm, stainless steel, Philips flat head, and you get them in the speciality racks in hardware where they have the metric sizes. Finally it'll fog when it gets cold and especially when it's cold and rainy. Rain-X Anti-Fog does work but you need to apply liberally, let it dry completely, buff lightly to clear, breathe on it to see if there's any fog at all and, if there is, you may need to apply again. I should be good to go after a second application. You may find condensation forming where your nose breathes on the visor and you may need to re-apply every other run if it's moist outside. I bought a second visor so I always have one ready to go.

Always have preferred dual visor helmets, and happy to find a good priced DOT approved one. The Matt black is simple and fits like a dream. I got small after measuring on the lower end for that size using this helmet’s size guide. I’ve been medium in other helmets and extra small in others so it’s good to know their ILM sizing chart is accurate. Helmet comes with a free soft drawstring bag. The chin strap closes with a clip, Asian style which I like, it’s easy and sturdy. The vision range through the clear shield is wide - always important- and the cheek buffers are well placed low down not riding up uncomfortabley to pull on your eyes. I won’t wear the helmet flipped up much probably but the feature is nice to have. You could stop and use your phone without taking the whole helmet off. The dark UV screen visor flips up or down via an easy to reach switch on the left side- see photos. All in all, very satisfied with my new helmet.

OK, for the price you can't beat this helmet. The wind noise is minimal, and easy to operate the modular functions. (once you get used to where everything is at lol. They do run a little big, so order a size smaller than you would think, even if you used the sizing chart. Quality is much better than I expected for a $65 helmet. I got mine, now I'm ordering another one for my wife and adding bike to bike communication in them for long rides. All in all, very pleased with this!Ok, UPDATE. After receiving mine we ordered one for my wife. I would agree that for the most part these helmets run big, but for my wife we ordered the helmet to the measured size according to the chart. The reason I did this is because I shave my head, and when I put on a skull cap under the helmet it improves the fit pretty well. My wife has long, thick hair so ordering to the measured size fits her perfectly. So, keep that in mind when you order one of these. Other than that, the helmet functions great, and like other reviewers have said, first thing you should do is remove the screws that hold in the clear shield and put some Loctite on them as there are only 2 screws that hold this in, and they have a tendency to work loose. The helmet itself is a good product, however the modular visor has two screws holding it on to the modular piece period. How is riding down the road at 70 miles an hour and one of the screws came out in Twisted my neck 180, I'm still trying to get over the stiffness of the seven twist, again be advised if you do buy this product it is a good helmet just check the two screws prior to writing. In the picture you will see now I have a crack in the visor and you will see the screw I had to find an adapt to its application.

So I've put in about 1000miles under this helmet. At first I was impressed. But that slowly faded away. Having owned it for around 2 months at the time of this review I'm disappointed in its inability to last. The worst being one of the 2 screws holding the visor on falling out and the visor wobbling in the wind. A little lock tight would go a long way. The face guard is a little flimsy but not really bad. The only thing I've had to deal with on that is when I put it down I have to make sure both sides lock down. Not too bad. The whistling in this helmet cannot be gotten rid of for nothing.

UPDATE: I used this helmet maybe 4 times and the little nubs that allow the helmet to lock while in the up position have broken off! So basically, the modular feature is practically useless as well as the entire helmet. So I bought this helmet and it arrived on time, however, the quality is sub-par when compared to other helmets I own. The inner shield arrived with a scratch on it and although they sent me another, there were no directions on how to get the old one off. Over-all I give it a one star....My basic helmets by Bilt are better constructed than these chinese made products. They are clearly designed for the Asian market. I don't think this helmet would protect me much in a low speed accident.
