This super expensive clock is worth the money. We have spent $40 here and $50 there on cheaper clocks with temperature guages..all which have failed in the AZ heat and cold. This clock is beautiful and very rich looking in our newly remodeled backyard. It is very accurate and the temp gauge is spot on! It uses 4 D cell batteries for the night light which kicks on when it gets dark. It has it's own built in sensor to determine when the sun goes down. Those batteries last about 6 months . The clock uses a seperate AA battery to run the clock. It weighs about 10 pounds and is huge. Our yard is about 150' wide and can see this clock at any spot in the yard. Outdoor Clock looks to be very well made. Heavier than I expected. Very easy to hang on a screw the way it is made, just put the screw about mid way at the rear of the clock slide clock down against the wall and it will guide itself to the holder. It would be nice if the light was a little brighter at night. It turns light on at night and you can set it to stay on for 4 hours or till daylight. The humidistat are pretty close out of the box, but you can adjust them if needed. I do like this clock. ... show more

We have the clock outside, it looks great on the pool deck. It keeps accurate time, and the humidity and temperature are pretty close. The back light looks good after dark, but I would use the 4 hour setting. Any more than that and you will burn through the D cell batteries.
