This was a good purchase for my needs.

I have seen a lot of debate on this item and I decided to take the chance. The desk arrived completely untouched and packed with two layers of protection as to ensure this. The desk itself was fairly easy to build and l didn't need anyone to help me build it. There is also a section that allows you to choose which side you want the leg walls to be on. As in... Which side you want the open leg on (I chose the right side). It took about 30 minutes with the occasional distraction and Netflix in the background. As far as the finished product is concerned, I like the way it looks. Not too small, not too big. The two drawers come in handy and there is a place to hide the ugly cords I have for my lamp and laptop. The color of the desk was my biggest worry, I was afraid it would be a washed out white or ivory color but it is white. True to picture. All in all, very satisfied with my purchase and I see it being here for a while.

Love desk, packaged well, worth the extra $

I previously bought this desk from IKEA and my movers broke it (somehow put a big hole in the tabletop which is a hard feat since it's very durable) so I was on the hunt to replace the desk. It was out of stock at every ikea within 500 miles. I knew it was overpriced on Amazon, I tried to wait it out a little to see if the price would drop to a more reasonable price, and it did (I should have waited longer because it dropped even lower lol) Anyway, yes it's $80 at IKEA. If you live far from one though this is an awesome choice. I was really worried about the desk being damaged during shipment but this seller is amazing because they put Styrofoam around the box to protect it and then wrapped it in like saran wrap. The desk came fully intact without any damages. It was easy to put together (but this was my second time, remember the drawers really have to be at an extreme angle to fit in, videos on youtube) For me, because I just love this desk and didn't want anything else it was worth the extra cost to have it shipped right to my door.

Very disappointed

3 very disappointing things about this purchase: 1.) We ordered this desk for our daughter and the shipping took forever to get to us. 2.) When we received it, the box was destroyed and that was very disappointing/concerning. 3.) Once we opened the box to start putting the desk together, we saw that it had chips, cracks, dirty streaks all over it. Not only that, but it was completely missing all the hardware to assemble it with (See attached pics). I don’t know if we received a used/returned one (we selected brand new when buying it & definitely paid the BRAND NEW$$$$$$). Our daughter was so disappointed when we told her that we were going to have to return this desk since it had taken forever to get to us and it wasn’t worth the price we paid for it. Buyer beware. Thankfully the return process wasn’t hard and we received our refund quickly after dropping it off at a UPS store. I would definitely not recommend this desk.

Great for a vanity!

It’s pretty easy to assemble but the instructions could be better explained. I saw other reviews of some people’s desks damaged so I was a little iffy on purchasing this - also considering it’s over priced, but I don’t live close to an ikea so I took a chance and mine came in perfect condition. I wanted to treat myself being that I had a cheaper style vanity I made with 2 sets of drawer units from Michaels and a slab of wood from Lowe’s. It did the job and lasted for 4 years but was too low of a vanity so I went for this one and it makes the hugest difference. Plus I love love looove the sturdy drawers it has too. I posted a video of how smoothly they slide. I’m really happy with how it came out! You should really just get one! :)

Best desk I've ever owned with the exception of a few minor issues.

I purchased this desk because I wanted something larger than what I currently had at the time. Let me start off by saying that this desk is wonderful. I like having drawer space to hide all my papers and things, and there's hidden cord storage that runs the entire length along the back underside behind the drawers. I also like the fact that one of the legs is just a metal frame because it gives my computer more room to 'breathe'. When the box was delivered, I had an awful time getting it up a flight of stairs by myself. It's not that it was too heavy, but it was just an awkward shape. Keep in mind that I'm 5'2 and am only 110 lbs. It took me all of about 45 minutes to fully assemble by myself, and once together, it was actually pretty easy to move. The other thing I want to mention is that this desk is not plywood or solid wood. It's your regular run of the mill furniture grade MDF board which is typical for most RTA furniture. Despite that fact, once I put the desk together I found that it's extremely solid. The directions were easy to read and it was pretty much a no-brainer. The front of the drawers are completely flat, and it doesn't come with any handles. I like the clean look, but within moderation, so I purchased two white 6'' curved drawer handles and attached them. I couldn't be happier! The only downfall to this desk that I found out the hard way is that because of the drawers, you only have about 24'' from the floor to the bottom of the drawers. For most office chairs, that's not enough clearance even with the seat at it's lowest position. I finally gave up on finding an office chair that would fit and bought a stationary accent chair with a seat height of 17'' which fits perfectly. In my experience with Ikea furniture, some pieces seem to be lower to the floor than others, so just watch out and measure before you buy anything. Also, for those who would like to know, the legs of the desk are in fact reversible and there are clear and precise instructions on how to assemble the desk if you're planning on switching them around. The only other downfall was the fact that some of the pieces had minimal damage upon delivery. The corner of the top piece was chipped, but I was able to hide it with a picture that sits on my desk. The other piece was the front facing piece of the part of the desk that hides the wires underneath. Not really a huge deal as you don't see it, but I had to glue it together as it was pretty much broken all the way through when I removed it from the shipping box. Overall, I'm in love with my new desk and I would highly recommend it! REVIEW EDIT: I've owned this desk for almost two years now, and I can say that for the most part, it's held up pretty well with one exception. The top of my desk has chipped all around the edges, and it scratches very easily. I'm a 32 year old woman who doesn't really use it that often, but the edges are peeling and chipping even around the back where my computer monitor sits. It's much worse at the front where your arms rest when you're using a keyboard or writing. If you purchase this desk, you might be better off buying a custom cut piece of glass to put on top to avoid the hassle and it would only cost about $50. The top of my desk has several scratches and I'm honestly not sure why. I don't put anything heavy on it, and I only use it to browse the internet, so that really shouldn't be an issue but it is. This desk has still held up better than any other desk I've ever purchased, so I would still recommend it but just be aware that it scratches easily and the edges will eventually chip and peel.

Be careful...It's wonderful, but a gamble

The finish looks absolutely beautiful. Its pricier than IKEA bc its free shipping and if I ever did shipping in IKEA, it would be an extra $300 alone to ship from the nearest IKEA store to my location (a 3-hour drive radius). I would give it 5-stars but its 4 bc theres a slight dent on one end (thankfully hardly noticeable). It really is a gamble buying this bc when you receive it, there's hardly padding for protection so I understand other people's complaints. So you need to hope for the best that the UPS guy does not toss it like a sack of potatoes. If you got money to spend, its worth the risk. I really do love it.

Perfect for the Office

Love this desk! It fits perfectly in my office and matches nicely with the Bellezza white office chair. I like that there are two ways of setting it up (the metal leg on either side). I was going to further customize it by spray painting the metal leg gold to match my office, but I'll burn that bridge another day ;) I also really love that if I choose, I can build on to this with the drawers and shelf sets. It was very easy to assemble-- even though it says two people, it was just me and Spotify in the middle of my office getting it done. My only wish is that the hole in the upper right corner could've been on the left, since that is where my outlet is and I would prefer not to have the cord visible from the laptop to the hole. It is nothing I am losing sleep over. I simply covered it up with a vase and moved on with my life. ALL SHIPPING COMPLAINERS -- STOP TELLING PEOPLE THIS IS A EXPLOITIVE PRICE; You do not take into consideration that while the desk may be $70-$80 from Ikea, the cost to ship could almost be 2x the cost of the desk for some people. I checked and my shipping costs were $129 PLUS the desk. I was happy to deal with Amazon and get my desk in 2 days with Prime.

I love this desk

I love this desk. I am using it for my vanity. It's a very pretty, bright white. The drawers glide open nice and smooth and are also nice and deep. I have a ton of makeup/skin care in one drawer and haircare products in the other. It took my husband about 45 minutes to assemble. I looked at the "Alex" vanity at Ikea and with shipping it was going to cost WAY more than this unit. This is a great buy if you don't live near Ikea. It's nice and sturdy. I have a very heavy, custom built, lighted mirror bolted to the back of it and have had no issues with it bending or bowing the center. I will update this review in six months to let people know how it's holding up.
